I already know(my own guess) that either by the end of this arc or the next one he’s probably going to officially be in a relationship with her.

Bro definitely got caught off guard.He wasn't expecting an essence drop, and even if it dropped, acquiring the color you seek is like winning the lottery. Last but not least, he wasn't expecting Bjorn to want it for himself.You can see how flustered he was at this. Also, it's highly probable he doesn't have an empty essence slot available, I mean, he is one of the stronger commanders of the royal army, so he's probably maxed out of essences.
Well, Berzark didn't appear on this floor, and I'm pretty sure he wasn't defeated when Bjorn got to the basement 1 (there were only a few hours remaining for the 1st floor to close). So maybe floor bosses are special beings.
i asked similar when we saw the rift guardian before actually, cause even at the moment when Bjorn first entered the basement, they were being chased by Berzark on F1 right? Where did Berzark end up? unless Floor Lords or Floor Bosses dont get sent to the same places in the basement? Maybe the Floor lords go to B2 or some lower floor? Oh gods, now i just have the thought of a basement floor that theres no normal monsters, its just all Floor lords, like one of those super late game areas where all the normal enemies are Boss level creatures from earlier in the game. That sounds terrifying, and i truly hope im wrong cause i cant imagine that being an easy thing to deal with for any party
I don’t think it’s the authors style but it would be really sick to see a full breakdown of Bjorns build rn, like essence stat bonuses and abilities, item stat bonuses, and engraving bonuses just to get a solid reminder of how stacked he has become
Other than that, I’m super glad that he got the essence! He laid it out so fast, that a proper denial couldn’t be made by the royal faction. I thought for sure they would oppose him getting more powerful. Maybe the royal’s report on him wasn’t as thorough as the one that the rose knights had, such they didn’t know his desired essences.
I just have a feeling that this will end up as Bjorn and the crew +/- Raven, Goblin, Kaislan desperately fleeing to either Raphdonia, or deep-still into level 2, leaving behind a massacred royal faction. I have a feeling Saintred won’t be taken down so easily at their current power scale, no matter how crafty a bastard Bjorn can be…
I think they probably just underestimated his build, frankly they may have thought he was going a more offensive route since he had the troll essence and was using a numbered hammer, they might not have realized that his true goal was ultimate defense, especially in the heat of the moment saintred probably just thought it was to boost magic defense on some rando in Bjorns squad
The big thing besides the magic defense of the essence is the cultivation Part of the passiv for stat boost. One of the only ways to ge them. I hope he finds more achievements as well.
Locals are underestimating the essence combinations, and generally think that someone with seven essences will always beat someone with five. Even top royal knights have random non-matching essences, and when someone gets synergizing essences they make it their secret move.Not Bjorn. All his essences are optimized so much that his every move is cheezing or straight cheating. Like WTF, he blocks sword aura, he now blocks all magic, he blocks like 90% of all physical attacks, and with a shield he blocks 100% of everything, he ignores half of debuffs and area attacks because of godlike resistance stats, the only really damaging attacks are field effects, but only floor bosses can perform them, and maybe holy magic.
It makes me curious to see what his floor lord essence will do, because we know he is gunning for one specifically. He also has transcendence and I am curious as to what it does with a floor lord essence. The weirdest part to me is that he has so much room to grow. He can still erase the stormgush essence and replace it with something else. He also mentioned that he wants to feed the others some mor essences and I wonder what they will do.
Not to mention, the barbarian's relic. He said it himself, that is what truly makes his build OP, and knowing Bjorn, he will definitely get it at some point.
Also gotta consider, Bjorn will likely reach a higher level here than he ever could in the game as well, given the Basement existing and therefore alot of new EXP sources that he didnt have in the base game, plus the fact we Do know theres a max level cause of the hacked players, i fully think we will see Bjorn reach levels beyond his original end game build. Which means. Even more essences he can add into his combos
It all depends on how OP the relic actually is. The simplest solution would be something like: Soul engravings getting a boost & all physical stats get a huge upgrade as well (Typical for barbarians) maybe based on % as well so he could theoretically reach over 100% Physical & Magical Res. Creating the absolute perfect tank with boosted attack power as well
i mean, Bjorn said himself that all essence skills are not as good as the original, when he was talking about the Hellsmith monster from when they fought Bellarios before, so I dont think Bjorn will be able to block all magic like the Bellarios itself. It will probably be somehow balanced
Either way, any massive boost to magic resistance will make Bjorn even more of a beast than he was before. Remember that fight with the Noark ppls, where he held his own against 3 of them, eating all their attacks? Or when he took on all 4 of other the potential leaders before the Ice expedition arc? After this, he can still build stats and get better equipment, so it’s only upwards from here

It would have been a tragedy if somehow Jerome used his speed to take the essence for himself, but I’m glad Bjorn got it
I hope they give us an idea of what trancendance does with this essence. Even the vol-herchan or the deep sea giant would be nice.
