the talk about Guardians, possible secret bosses on the normal floors and such made me remember, we still have no clue on what the Floor Lord for B1 is, Or what its spawning conditions are. Since every Floor Lord has had a different Spawning Condition, I wonder if Bjorn and Co. are potentially accidentally fulfilling whatever mystery condition that may be.
That big stone door at the end feels like another Archive, it reminds me of the Hamsiki doorway, and its clearly sealed until they finish the condition to get through all this, so it being an archive could make sense
That or maybe itโs a new unknown rift guardian, or perhaps a second level with higher tier guardian statues. Or maybe, like you said, it could be like the Library Archive, and if so, maybe a โtrial masterโ is waiting for them to complete it.
that would be insane but i dont think this will be archive i think there will be archives in later basement floors and hamski would be there and when bjorn finds his true form hes going to be like dread fear but alot more dangerous but is going to spare bjorn because hes his friend like my guess already is hamski is going to have the abilities of all essences he has recorded and hes going to be a monster
ah so you think the archives are 1 per Basement floor, but then why did we get the qualifications for the 3rd one at the library, if its one per Basement floor, that would mean it should be the 1st archive more likely
i must of not read well enough cause i did not know that had the qualifications for the 3rd one but i dont think my guess will change theres already information just because that got something on a floor does not mean that it will be used on the same floor like how bjorn had to go to another floor to get the keys to open the basement but the basement entrance was on the 1st floor
i mean fair enough, mostly cause this Floor is called the Basement Archives is the reasoning behind my guess, the floor IS the archives, so the qualifications for the 3rd Archive access being on the archive Floor, makes me think that the rest of the unknown archives, like the 1st and 2nd, and who knows if there are more after the 3rd, would also be on this floor, i could be wrong, and if so, that will be interesting in its own way!

new thought now also on this being another archive, the library was also an amazing spot for growth, and EXP gain, What if the archives are focused on speeding up the growth of Characters, to allow them to reach max level without grinding as easily, to get the optimal build and essences more easily. This cant be confirmed right now, weโd need to find out if this is an archive first, and probably see at least 1 more to really know for sure. But if the archives are all centered around an aspect of growth in Dungeon and Stone, maybe as the rest are Found, we will see Bjorn start to sky rocket in power more and more? This space is a great farming space just like the library, and both could be used to farm for EXP and essences. and if this is the case, could there be an essences archive? relating to the hybrid essences??? Like a space like this and the library thats all hybrid monsters, including undiscovered ones? Since hybrid monsters were in the Library, but only those they had discovered. But here in this Guardian space, there are undiscovered guardians also. So that could maybe let them get access to those kind of weird combo essences. Oh wait, Are there Hybrid Guardians. Could we see a space later on potentially with guardians that have hybrid essences as well?
I think it fits with that theory of the Basement being a dev zone, and this area and the library could function as a means to properly field test monsters, essences, field area effects, and such.If this theory tracks (kudos to the theorizer), this also leads me to wonder if weโre going to meet a โDevโ before we leave the basementโฆ O.o
to tie into the idea we talked about before about the earth witch and having the authority of the Labyrinth, since we already know parts of the Labyrinth are recreated sections of the Empire from the dreadfear and doppelganger stuff, Could the Earth Witch have been in a position like the Head Dev then, leading the process, as her disciples followed her lead, basing sections off the Empire and real places that may be somewhere else in the world. If the idea of Authority, as weโve discussed, is similar to being able to rewrite the space that it controls, that could be considering โrecodingโ the space. We already know tht for the Community, the GM was able to recode some things and change features, like adding new tabs, chatrooms, etc. If the same is true for the Labyrinth, Then maybe the Authority, is merely the ability to touch the base code of reality in the spaces it pertains to. Allowing for this Labyrinth that is clearly made like a game, to be developed. And tbh, just like gavis has some clear goal by opening the Abyss gate, if the Earth Witch also was something like the Head Dev, then she likely had some goal or desire in making all this, and creating either a testing site, or a site meant for growth, since if it was only meant for testing, there would be ways to do so without creating places that also allow for immense growth, so it seems clear that it is meant to grow the power of the people who go through. So What is the Earth Witchโs goal in this case? Could she have wanted to create places for her people and followers to grow stronger? was this meant for something in the future, potentially for Bjorn specifically, if she also saw the Records. Or was it meant to be something else?
im super curious what those new guardians are, also that means there are likely more monsters in those rifts that cant be found elsewhere, theres been rift exclusive monsters almost every time, so therefore, if Bjorn can figure out the entry conditions for the normal versions of these new guardians, that would open up potentially immense amounts of EXP for them all once they leave the basement and get back to the normal floors, also Bjorn mentioned that these are all the guardians from the 5th floor and below, since a space like this exists for floor 5 and Below Guardians, doesnt that mean there is almost for sure another space like this somewhere else? with the guardians for floor 6 and up? What if the new guardians are situated in a new region that has yet to open up from one of the other floors? There still are floor lords, and if the theory is true that the lords are all former pilgrims of the witch, then maybe defeating them with the special conditions is the key to opening up other regions?
true, i had formerly guessed the floor lords true forms, like what dreadfear did were the ways into the lower basement floors, so maybe they unlock the cooresponding basement level, or maybe they open those new rift types like you mentioned. Or hell, maybe thats connected to the secret bosses after the floor lords also, like on Floor 1, i forget their name but the boss that appears after killing the F1 floor lord enough times and then it spawns, we havent heard mention of a secret floor boss for any other boss, and before i just thought there werent any, but what if bjorn just doesnt know about them, and theyre just still secret bosses with spawn conditions unknown on every single floor

i imagine that the guardian EXP is likely limited purely to avoid overfarming and reaching level cap off just king slime. cause that would be kind of overpowered

If so, the whole expedition team is going to grow a magnitude stronger, which will be of great help against the noark invasion, whenever that happens
that would be able to solo the weaker ones if that can be used again but i cant imagine them soloing the stronger bosses they would be able to deal dmg but not take it so bjorn would prob pick the ones they could do
also, they didnt mention it yet, but is the King Slime Statue still there? Does it still turn on? or is it one time? Cause if it can be used again, and the rest are the same, Doesnt that make this an ultimate Training ground? Where everyone can train up from the weakest guardians, to the strongest?
I was actually thinking this, wondering whether others can do the same โtrialโ, or if itโs a one time one person trial. Though how many people can solo a guardian on their own? It might just be the elites who get to train and farm
also, given that theyre all Solo, that means that they cant get the essence in test tubes unless the wizards beat the guardian alone, which seems really difficult for most mages and guardians, and so i cant imagine that they will take that risk, especially since we dont know if the essence is a for sure drop or if Bjorn just got lucky
Some mages could be capable of still doing it, especially the ones with powerful 1 hit-KO spells. Then again, with how mages a treated like precious metals, would the expedition even risk it? Possibly not. Too bad they donโt have the ability to tag team, I think theyโd be able to stock up on a lot of essences if they could, and feed them to the explorers that canโt yet solo a guardian on their own.
you have to consider that every 1 hit spell weโve seen has been slow to prep, and every time theyve been cast, theres normally a tank or defender, so even the stronger mages may struggle, since if they cant cast fast enough, the guardian could just murder them instantly, and i dont think mages can move while casting, but we havent had it fully explained in depth how that works
Tbh, thats actually one thing I kinda wish they went into a bit more depth in the story, the magic system. I know the perspective is centered around Bjorn and what is relevant to his experiences, but the lore-junkie in me has a ton of questions about it. Especially since they stated a difference between mages and sorcerers (sorcerers use essences).Iโm pretty sure there are some battle mages or sorcerers who can hold their own (maybe with quick casts, prepared spells, or magic scrolls, etc.), but yeah, it still wouldnโt be a good risk strategically to send them in when there are other means (tanks, warriors, paladins, etc).
also, Sorcerers, given they use Essences, would just be Caster builds in the end, so they could likely beat some guardians, but unlike mages, they likely cant even put things in test tubes. Since from what weโve been told thats a thing from magic. And as for Mages, from what weโve been told, they technically do level up, but they cant use essences, and i mean, we know from the system prompts that there are benefits to leveling up, like increased soul power at certain thresholds, but mages in universe wont know that so likely never even care if they level, so in the end, a higher level Mage, while not much different from a properly trained, lower level mage, may still have more differences we dont know or understand from lack of info on Magic

Their real power comes from their knowledge and proficiency in spells (and mana pool).Btw I recall mages use a different resource for magic than soul power – thats why Regal Vagos' attack to drain soul power didnโt work on Dwalkie. Bjorn calls it MP, although I think I remember seeing soul power referred to as MP before tooโฆ ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
as i understood it, Soul Power was mostly just the in universe term for MP, since magic points, or mana points doesnt make sense for Natives to call it that, and if they know Essences go into the Soul, calling the power used for magic and by essences Soul Power makes sense culturally, And i feel like ive seen Mages call it Soul Power also, but i could be misremembering, or conflating two different occurrences, im not 100% sure. also as for why Vagoโs soul power effect didnt work on mages, I honestly dont know, Magic as a whole has been discussed very very little, would love if we could get more scenes with Raven just to go over the particulars of magic some, doesnt have to be everything, just some stuff
Guaranteed guardian essence drop rate maybe? Would be cool to see him fill his last slot (and if he gets a replacement gigantification just save it in a test tube till he gets back)
