i feel like these chapters are pretty boring but we need them for plot but remember when bjorn talked to the duke he said he wanted more than one wife im not sure why hes not just saying he wants them all it would instantly solve all these issues
I think he was trying to test on his own accord if Bjorn was the lion mask, based on lion mask never backing down from a challenge of killing intent etc..Might have been a good happy accident that Bjorn shook his hand lightly!
so the royals are trying to cripple his house by making his heir a human, and thus making the Jandel House be based in Humanity, rather than the Barbarians. Given that a marriage between bjorn and a human would produce a human baby, that would then mean that, even IF melbes kept ties with House Jandel, they would be the only Human in the group, and likely would slowly be excised from the Non Human group, eventually causing House Jandel to be forced to join with the Human nobles, or the royals. This is clearly a long term plan but its clear what they intend to do. So i guess Bjorn will have no choice but to somehow pick someone before then, or figure out something else.
Had a feeling they’d be scheming something but this is kinda genius. He has no known partner, so he has no real excuse to reject a partner they propose… unless he makes an argument about love, or if the person is visibly opposed like Arabella was…I see someone suggested Ragna – if it’s the Marquis, I wouldn’t put it past him to suggest her. Arabella is also an option if she has a change of heart… though don’t think she’d be a match for Bjorn. I wonder if we’d see SoulQueens in the flesh, perhaps she could be a candidate?Oo, this is getting juicy…
So 3 possible daughters come to mind. The count’s daughter that he proposed he marry from the first party he becomes a Baron, the dukes family if they had a daughter(it’s been so long I can’t remember), and the chancellors adopted daughter (the librarian).
Or a crazier plot twist, Dwalki’s previous family might have a niece/cousin we aren’t aware of.
I also feel like he is overdue for a promotion of some kind. There’s two options being a viscount or margrave. Personality wise I would lean towards Margrave considering he’s more combat oriented.
