  2. I think I'm starting to see the writing on the wallโ€ฆ

That A) there really is a traitor, and B) the missing corpse was intended to sow discord among the groupโ€ฆ

I think I know who it is, and I'm only guessing this because someone brought up an interesting point a couple chapters ago.

As an aside, had an interesting thought – if a player of D&S played as a character of the opposite sex and beat it (on w/e mode) would they arrive in Raphdonia as the opposite sex, or their original?

    1. Layton Bright is still alive? Also they would come as their original. Showing up as the opposite sex would make the difficulty impossible unless you showed up as a barbarian and just act stupid

      1. Thatโ€™s my running hypothesis, Bjorn's group got fooled for a while in a similar fashion in the doppleganger forest, so possible it could be another instance. Just canโ€™t think of a real motive, but if Jayna's internal animosity towards Baek Ho is any indication that others might have similar feelings, maybe that might be a factor? Still odd though – if true, this would likely be a suicide mission, which usually requires strong conviction or belief. If it goes this route, hopefully we'll get a bit more of his backstory.Re: opposite sex, I'm hoping it's original, because things could get pretty awkward easily. Then againโ€ฆ for some it could be rather freeing

  3. A real askrladd/thorfinn scenario going on right now.

Again for a human lie detector, he sure asks the lamest accusations. He always asks pointed questions and not open ended questions that allow for more routes of discovery.

    1. He doesn't want to give them a chance to twist any lies. He also asks questions exactly like Bjorn does. They don't want fluff. They want facts.

      1. A pointed question is easier to evade. Start open, get a hit, narrow down.Did you eat breakfast today? Breakfast is usually between 6 and 9am, I ate at 10am so no I didn't have breakfast. Is your name Bjorn? No my full name is Bjorn, Son of Jandel, bjorn is part of my name not all of it. OR no my name is Lee Hansoo, Bjorn is an alias. We learnt a while back that this relic sucks and it works so long as the speaker thinks its the truth or has the mental fortitude to convince themselves a lie is truth or the question meant something else.A proper interrogation requires you catch someone on an inconsistency, not just deny deny deny. Jayna could have answered with no if right that second when she was asked she didn't want to kill him, she could have said. No, not right now. Hence why I think the whole point of this chapter was to give us the Jayna wants baekho dead plot hook, not the โ€œomg someone is a traitor" thing.

        1. Donโ€™t forget, Misplaced Trust isnโ€™t just a simple lie detector, it literally prevents anyone in its effect from saying anything they perceive to be untrue. This marks intent as well, so not as easy to dodge. Trying to find a way around a straightforward question and getting caught unable to speak for even part of it would be even more suspicious, imho

  4. We may be getting an evil priest out of this yet.

His questions that we know of have loopholes.

โ€œDid you tell anyone we went outside the wallsโ€

No I wrote it down on a piece of paper.

โ€œDid you have any involvement in us been trapped hereโ€

No, it was my ally who got the paper who did it, I'm unaware of their plot and am uninvolved in it.

Really just needed to be one yes or no question โ€œDo you have any idea why we are stuck here"

    1. These are pretty specific nuances to the English language so you'd have to check to see how the actual Korean is written and if this translates over.

    2. But that would immediately solve the mystery kittens. Why would the author do that? Also, biggest loop hole is that Baekho isn't answering questions himself. He could be the mole.

      1. The important thing out of this imo was to introduce the lie detector, waste time with it then bombshell us with the jayna Q at the end. Author instead could have asked that question (Alex has a point, I am dependent on post translation quirks the original language may have different quirks to work around) then asked bjorn literally anything and wasted time on why the relic doesn't work on him as a baekho/bjorn sketch before turning on Jayna. If they wanted to build uncertainty in the group the lie detector not working at all on bjorn would have been a good call back. As is there's no real difference between that 1 catch all and the round of 20 questions baekho played, or the round would be different when people answer yes and we get each characters perspective and thoughts on why / how we're stuck here. That would be better writing, and allow for more nuanced character development for the party. If you're been serious, elaborate on why/how baekho been the mole would work? Is this faekho ex a doppelganger or is his motivation to kill everyone here for what reason?

        1. He can't be a doppleganger because he has access to his inventory. I was thinking he could potentially be enticed by AG to do literally anything he asks if him since AG his all the cards. He's the only one that can give Baekho what he wants so he doesn't have any bargaining power at all.

          1. I get the sense that AG has tossed all his cards in on Bjorn, with all his former talk about failures and such. Baek Ho was there for a good while and isnโ€™t currently taken in Gavis so I suspect they'd have some prior history and possibly a falling out (Baek Ho might have seen/heard of the record stone prophecies from AG). Pure conjecture on my part, but it makes sense from all the โ€œcluesโ€ weโ€™ve been given. Then again, it doesnโ€™t discount an offer from AG – just that it could likely be a poisoned one

        2. I think the point of questioning would have been to find the mole among Baek Ho's companions, excluding Bjorn and GM (since Baek Ho would figure theyโ€™d have less benefit getting trapped with him) – plus he has a deep trauma from the last time an ally burned him, so itโ€™s likely he has more trust and understanding with his frenemies than his allies, I guess.
