keeping the prophecy unfulfilled for long would hinder bjorn strategic thinking. So, taking in to account the title of the chapter, seems things will develop as follows: when they return to the city theyre gonna have beef with the royal faction, one of them will betray them (my bet would be the goblin or auyen as i dont think the gm would count, for now, he may count depending on whats stated in the few upcoming chapters up to when the โstormโ hits) hopefuly is not rsven who betrays them. And then most likelyapp 3 of the โfodderโ from ice rock that amelia brought will die, maybe auyen or even versil but the ladies from bjorns pack are golden. Author is not going to risk readers killing misha, erwen, aynar or amelia. As raven wasnt mentioned last chapter she might be the โtraitor against her will but hopefuly she is not, and that she survives as wellโฆ
bruh poor erwin once again she wonโt be able to have her sweet revenge โฆ i wonder what countermeasure our boy needs to counter baek ultimate skill . i guess only then he will fight him for real and finally kill gramp for erwin
โHey, Cap, do you read me? Cap, it's Sam. Can you hear me? On your left.โ This gave me that kind of vibes, for real. The feels, seeing the whole clan mobilize to rescue Bjorn is real. ๐๐๐
Bjorn finally laying into Baek Ho is rather satisfying as well – exercising his Lion mentality vs. this White Tiger. A lion hunts with his pride, something Baek Ho doesnt have, especially now that he just stripped him of any dignity he had. And that slap was personalโฆ Bjorn/Hansoo has been waiting forever to do that. Hope it doesnโt backfire though, Baek Ho seems like the vengeful type with an elephant memory.
Also super subtle but love how none of them care about GM's flip-flopping – just a โget outta hereโ, lol. I wonder how theyโre going to repair the circle now that theyโre opposed to the Ruin Scholar nowโฆ or does that mean since team Anabada came, the magic circle is fixed?
It's funny because Bjorn basically just realized Baekho is is foil. It's surreal to be able to see that in real life. That's like seeing someone in an awful situation relative to yours then admitting that you'd be in their shoes had you just made some small changes in your decisions. It requires a great deal of humility and introspection. This is even more evidence that he knows he's an absolute beta with women and doesn't say anything. He knows it's inexcusable and can't justify it which is why he never brings it up. Alright, fair enough. That's good development.
On another note, this is pretty much Baekhoโs final build. Bjorn still has a long way to go, but his exact build is pretty much known by him now. This means he can figure out any weaknesses to it that Bjorn isn't even aware of. So if Baekho wants to get stronger to match now, he's left with very few options: unknown numbers items, perfected essences from basement (which may have been the point of it since Bjorn was banned,) or some sort of deal with Karui to get power not present in game.
Off the top of my head, i would grind basement and build the ultimate pvp team. Get a teammate that has the essence that seals skills and build the whole team around that. It's a perfect ambush/gank team that is impossible to prepare for. Most adventurers have to take pve into account so they won't be optimized for pvp.
Right but if opponents aren't prepared for it and you are, then you start off with a huge advantage. If your whole team doesn't rely on the sealed skills and the opponents do, that's a devastating advantage. That would be my worst nightmare in that world.
Honestly, he isn't banned from the basement so he should be able to partner up with anyone and grind them up from the ground up. He can customize his entire team with the exact builds he wants with the potential to get powerful gear is he's lucky enough
Does Baek Ho even have info on the basement? I donโt recall if Bjorn shared any info, and heโd likely not get much from the royals or the magic tower – they'd likely be tight-lipped. There also were a few explorers from Bjorn's basement faction, but seeing Baek Ho was outside, I doubt heโd have gathered the intel – at least not about the custom essences.Lastly, the labyrinth server is still closed, so no grinding available until the royals open it again. Question is, will they open it again before Noark invades?
There were too many people there to keep everything under wraps. Not to mention there are absolutely nobels leaking info to Noark. Really though, as long as he can find his way in, he'll be able to figure everything else out. He's a peak explorer that is totally willing to throw his allies away. He can use a tactic that Bjorn only recognized when he took over as commander. Just throw bodies at a problem until it's solved. He can brute force most issues since he doesn't care about the well-being of his comrades. He would have killed the flying horse for instance.
There would have been no way for baekho to have entered the basement, it requires floor 3 and floor 1 labby access, noark started at floor 7 so heโd have to have spedrun backwards against the clock and i frankly dont see him clearing floors 6 down to 1 and getting the rng needed for the drops in 3 real time days and labyrinth has been closed since they invaded.I think it's fair to assume they know about it because of the community been open while bjorn was in the basement, I don't think they've had a realistic chance to get in though and I don't see one arising unless plot occurs and he gets in direct to the basement, direct to floor 1 or direct to floor 3I suspect the basement is going to be in the โbeen there, done that" book and we won't get a revisit and the threads left will remain loose.
I don't think baekho is getting out of this. This feels like the wrapup for an arc and time for his clan to plot dump the next thing on us.Baekho can't really come back from this kind of L and it would be dangerous to leave him alive. Also good luck getting Erwin to not un-life the ruin scholar without assassinating her character. Either someone has a gtfo method (the 2 remaining teleport scrolls for baekho and gramps?) or baekho's gang is dead or Baekho goes nova and we fulfilled the prophecy. If baekho and ruinzenes teleport scroll out, the prior โ3 of your allies die" fragment was about baekho not bjorn.
I am on the lookout for Baekho fulfilling the prophesy instead of Bjorn but I believe he also needs to be betrayed as well. So if Ruin sells out Baekho then maybe it does fit on top of the 3 others dying, but that means Baekho actually trusted Ruin which is kind of sad. This would also mean Bjorn would immediately stop being the one that Gavis cares about which means Baekho would be a bigger threat with his backing. That would get him to overcome the limits he's reached with his build and make him and Gavis a bigger threat. Honestly, potentially more interesting than Bjorn being the โchosen oneโ and just a wild card unbound by fate instead.
It doesnโt seem like this is the end of Baek Ho, at least if we continue linearly from here. Then again, it wouldn't be the first time we hit a hard right turn in the plot. Still, I donโt get the sense that this is the mood from the current atmosphere. Seems like itโs negotiation time, and Baek Ho & co need to give up or promise something of equal value. Itโs the explorer way to settle disputes in this world after all. Loot or blood, with loot preferred
I don't think he can offer bjorn anything. What could he offer? It's really just information and bjorn is likely to just end him once he's tortured it out of him.Baekho talking is a risk, he knows bjorn is an evil spirit, he knows he's the Korean guy, if bjorn isn't going mask off and wants to keep that secret baekho is an existential threat to him.
I wonder if Erwin is gonna let ruin gramps slide right now? This is like the 3rd time shes seen him since he killed her sister and she found him attacking Bjorn.
No way is she gonna just let him walk away, again!?
It's not that hard to convince her. This is her ultimate goal so every bit of info she gets is a huge boost. We know his fighting style now and that if we kill him we need to kill Baekho now too. We're in a much better position now than ever before.

Well that was a bit anticlimactic. Oh well, plenty of chances to come id guess.

Bjorn just teabagged Baek ho in front of his whole downed Iteam lol
