It was very rewarding honestly and I prefer it to having conversations with the weak and sensitive people in the chat that downvote when people celebrate the death of Clown psssssit! Wish he didn’t just admit he was Lion but made him realize it by tapping his finger on clowns body and stating, “I’ll let you live if you tell me something interesting”.
Bjorn has long past the time of being a good two shoes or a normal person with standard ethics and morals held by modern people. His character is corrupt and altered to survive this world. In the chapters leading up to this, he’s slaughtering people left and right, has been for years now to get where he is. Death count well exceeding several hundred people. That’s CCC too, not flinging magic missiles from afar getting AOE kills.
I’m also bummed. Bjorn should have kept him alive long enough to introduce him as an ally and then killed him on the spot to eliminate one spot for death of an ally. Waste of an opportunity in my opinion.
Bjorn has a lot of allies, not just party members that are allies. I have a feeling Rotmiller might be among the dead allies list. He was one of the first to know he’s an evil spirit and not care. He lives with the Barbarians and his lover, the accountant girl. His death would be fitting considering he hasn’t shown any signs of having a significant power up either and has stagnated as a side/ background character. Also the fact they brought him up in this chapter was a bit of foreshadowing in my opinion.
I don't think anyone from our world could keep their shit together in his environment. In my opinion, it's 'normal' that he became a sociopath or just got mentally damaged from the stress. We live in a world that is more or less safe compared to theirs.As for the clown, I just don't see a scenario where Bjorn lets him live. In my eyes, Bjorn pays back what’s owed. The clown claimed he just 'wanted to be cool,' and IMO, that makes him way too broken to have by my side. He would eventually stab the great Bjorn in the back just to look cool again. So in my book, it went pretty much as I expected.With the sailor, the catch is that he didn't do as much against the group as the clown did, so I get why he just let him suffer a bit.
Actually, Rotmiller doesn’t know he's an evil spirit. When he confronted Bjorn and asked him, Brown assumed Bjorn wasn’t one because no evil spirit acts like him and cares for the locals like Bjorn does (or appeared to).Also, I agree, Bjorn has never been a pinacle of morality – his goal has gone from simply surviving to protecting what is important to him (with a touch of vengeance sprinkled in). He's well adapted to the world of Raphdonia (sometimes more than the locals), but he is very much a man of his principles. I wouldn’t go as far to say he's corrupt – he definitely colors outside the lines – but he operates by a code. I think that’s what separates him from people like Abet, who kill indiscriminately. I dont think there ever was a world where Bjorn and Abet would be allies though, especially not with all that history.Interesting take on Brown – if that ever happens, I hope we get a bit more of his back story first, and what happened to his school during the timeskip.
