  1. Hi everyone, i have a question about the betrayal plot of the marquis, maybe someone already knows the answer but i didn't quite get it. Why does the marquis didnยดt attemp to kill thoroughly the MC and the elite team in the Ice Rock operation? I donยดt think that destroying the โ€œeye in the skyโ€œ, a.k.a norakโ€™s comunication center in 7th floor, works in favor of him in the end.

    1. Its actually a good question (why they were sent to destroy the eye in the sky) in light of recent events. Itโ€™s the same with the assassination attempt on the Marquis. We dont know at what point the Marquis teamed up with Orculesโ€ฆ if it was a recent development or if it was the plan all along.Regarding ice rock, the Marquis did try to get rid of Bjorn and co, so that he wouldnโ€™t have to deal with Bjorn being a โ€œgoodโ€ evil spirit. He and his son set everything up so that Bjorn wouldnโ€™t return while being able to wipe his hands clean, but Bjorn was too resilient even for them. After that, I think the Marquis might have held out hope that Bjorn might join his side, which is probably why he had the order not to kill any of Bjorn's companions

      1. I see, looking back at that timeline we donยดt really know the deal between the Marquis and Orcules, (or maybe there wasnโ€™t an alliance to begin with), perhaps he focused on eliminating enemies from the inside and outside the kingdom and gaining more power. Maybe when he learned that his son was an evil spirit, he tried to increase his authority within the kingdom and defy the royal decree that declared evil spirits forbidden. But then a wild MC appears and becomes a growing oposition so he gives up, joining the bad guys, abandoning his son and leaving the rest for his daugther?, it feels that the author had enough of him. Perhaps he wasnโ€™t the promised atagonist of the seriesโ€ฆ :(. I guess the commander of Orcules discovered his weaknessโ€”his daughterโ€”and maybe blackmailed him by exploiting his deep hatred toward the crown.

        1. I think youre on the money with some of those beads – just note that the Marquis admittedly has a deep seated hatred/disdain for evil spirits, despite working with them fron time to time. He knew of his son for a looong time and always treated him like crap, and the only reason he overturned Bjorn's evil spirit declaration is so ppl wouldnโ€™t see evil spirits as good – same reason he had Ragna propose to integrate evil spirits and then shut it down himself (to kill the idea in the bud).I feel like Ragna's mom is at the forefront of the Marquisโ€™ betrayal – maybe the king was responsible for her death or something (she was brought up for a reason, we just dunno what yet). Also thinking afresh nowโ€ฆ maybe Bjorn's marriage proposal to Ragna wasnโ€™t just to tie Bjorn down, but rather to put Ragna in Bjorn's protection? Curiousโ€ฆ

  2. Abman and Rotmiller seem to be the first selection? Iโ€™m honestly over โ€˜fatedโ€™ events. I hope the arc wraps up quickly and the plot moves forward.

Recently weโ€™ve been getting many more questions than answers and itโ€™s more than tipped into the realm of dissatisfying.

Everyone is coming up to Bjorn with one demand or attempt at manipulation, and the guy himself seems to have no choice but to entertain anyone and everyone.

I donโ€™t know exactly what this event is supposed to add to the plot except for seemingly scripted character deaths with a hint of random selection. Presumably, itโ€™d be Bjorn โ€˜realizingโ€™ what it is heโ€™s supposed to do, but the transactional presentation of the prophecy makes me doubt losing 3 characters will make any subsequent realization particularly satisfying or meaningful to the character, talk less of the readers.

    1. Canโ€™t say for sure (I guess time will tell) but I think this event really culminates the Marquis vs. King (as well as Orcules vs the King) as well as likely uncovering the mystery behind Ragna (hopefullyโ€ฆ hoping its not left as an open thread). I also think itโ€™ll solidify the animosity of the explorers against the Royal family, something that might only be alleviated by the reopening of the Labyrinth (which i sincerely hope – so many good story beads happen when exploring).Still dunno what the Bjorn realizing what heโ€™s supposed to do part refers to, but perhaps weโ€™re not supposed to know yet. Putting a pin in that one for nowยฏ\_(ใƒ„)_/ยฏ

  3. My guess is that the church will be full of enemies or targeted by them. If everything around it is burning everyone will go towards it to escape the fire

  4. Also, Parav is having some serious character development – going against his intuition to rescue others – the same intuition that has (potentially) saved him from harm time and time again. I wonder if this is like some divine trial he has to go through where overcoming his reliance on his intuition will grant him some new powers or something. I mean, it seemed like Reatlas was somewhat benevolent, so maybe? Theyโ€™re even heading to one of her churches so this might not be a far fetched ideaโ€ฆ

  5. So all 4 of them know Bjornโ€ฆ I hope Abman makes it back to his family. Also Abman was rank 3? He really ranked up in the years Bjorn was missing.

Also, I really like these alternate POVs. We love our korean barbarian, but its nice to really dive into the other characters from time to time, for however long we have with themโ€ฆ

    1. I usually remember most characters in everything I reas but I canโ€™t remember much about Abman. Anyone want to give a little blurb?

      1. Abman (Mr Bear) was the explorer Bjorn teamed up with for a bit. Heโ€™s the archer who can summon a bear. He was with Bjorn for quite a bit before he disappeared for those few years. Bjorn went and saw him again once he disappeared but Abman wanted nothing to do with teaming up with him again.

      2. Yep exactly what @Bogan said. Mrs. Bear gave just enough clues to identify him as her husband

    1. Youโ€™re right, we all have our favorites, but you can bet, things wont be the same afterwards regardless of who dies. We know itโ€™ll be ppl close to Bjorn, and all the them have come to have a unique place. Dwarkie was a core team member death and that hit hard as a truckโ€ฆ not sure how its gonna hit us when we lose these mystery 3 :/Still, the story has me captivated with the plight of our scattered characters, and that still has me intrigued on their journeys
