no no, this happened recently, within the last like 150 chapters. Bjorn was mulling over revealing his status and when they asked Aynar about it hypothetically she no hesitation still said evil spirits are kill on sight.
It was after Erwin and Raven found out Bjorn was an evil spirit, and they met up with up with Aynar again, after Bjorn got his name back (post-time skip and post-ice rock).Also the hypothetical was lost on Aynar, since it could be taken for a random person. Plus she was following the (former) chief's words. Bjorn is the chief now, and in some ways, her idol and closest mate.
I wouldn’t say detached, just that she’s a true barbarian – no theatrics or long emotional hoopla – just simple and to the point. Her words held enough emotion even though they were short, and now isn’t the time for grieving.Also dont forget, she deeply mourned her mentor (way back when) and is ride or die for Bjorn (likely evil spirit or naw). She was also sad about her basement village friend, but quickly adjusted too
Don’t forget, they also worked together a lot since the construction arc. Rotmiller was the barbarian's scout instructor, and Aynar essentially had command of the sanctuary when Bjorn was stuck outside. Lots of opportunity to get to know each other.
Aynar definitely cares about Rotmiller’s death, it’s just that she’s so used to her barbarian friends dying that she is able to cope with death really well
I said in my other post, but its not that she didn’t care – its just a different culture, but her words held strong meaning even though they were short. It’s the barbarian way – theres a time for proper mourning later, right now they got ish to do.
you know, they’ve implied barbarians and the other races are some kinda unnatural construct based on the memories of the vampire count. you think their attitude has to do with whatever nonsense made them strong and their hearts magical or its just a culture thing?
I think its cultural, but the jury is still out. Barbarians are special, but i think they also have a culture of being direct and valuing strength. Look at Bjorn's interactions with the former chief
