  1. boooooo stop separating Bjorn from his friends! youโ€™ve done that like 3 times in a row!! its a perfectly valid plot development normally but the repetition is noticeable booooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    1. I hope we get their POV through some of this at least. They can at least have the opportunity to showcase how much theyโ€™v grown

  2. Iโ€™ve spent a whole two weeks creating an AI tool to translate novels yet even with the best LLM models, human translation still wins. Atleast the tool is a step up from the MTLโ€™s we see online so often so it was not entirely a waste.

    1. That aside, I hope Amelia is fine. Sounds like she took quite a lot of damage and still had to carry the team

    2. any new gen LLM should be able to translate a LN, maybe languages like korean, japanese etc. being hard in writing makes it harder idk. Anyways after translating using 2 different LLMโ€™s (lets take gpt and claude or maybe gemini?) , cross checking them then fixing some words using human logic that reads this type of LNโ€™s should be very close to full human translation

      1. I tried locally running LLM models like QWEN 3.6 and translationGemma. If thereโ€™s no real translator doing the translations, itโ€™s do-able but it canโ€™t compare to a real person translating. The mean issue Iโ€™m having is that itโ€™s not interpreting things correctly and/or leaving things out. I even added a dictionary, second translation to compare + auditor who compares and chooses but that didnโ€™t fix everything. Maybe if it was ran using a 1T model like the paid ones but I wanted to focus om something anyone can run as my main target is people like me who occasionally run into a novel that is so unknown there are only bad MTLโ€™s available. I translate using 12b and 27b models

    3. I find youโ€™re always going to have some deficiency with even LLM translation, especially when there's a lot of nuanced/almost-poetic usage or creative language used in these works (especially in korean). Some of it requires insider knowledge to translate properly within its context. LLMs are fantastic, but still have limitations. An English equivalent would be something like โ€œhe's a silver-spooned, silver-tongued pup with gold-plated dreams on a nickel budgetโ€ meaning โ€œhe'sa spoiled little brat talks who big but has unrealistic aspirationsโ€, but could also mean โ€œhe's a savvy kid from means who is skilled/sly enough to accomplish a lot with very littleโ€ (ie. Lloyd) depending on how it is used. Not the best example, but hopefully it comes across

      1. Yeah, Iโ€™ve thought about feeding the LLM lore that is relevant to the story (like DND for this one) or just Fandom Wiki dumps but the issue is that itโ€™s hard to keep all of that in memory especially on consumer cards.
