Actually, it’s getting boring…752 stages of a boss is a bit too much. I don’t really enjoy reading “There were 10 layers on the outside. Attack! Layer 1 is destroyed. Attack more! Layer 2 is destroyed. Attack more! Layer 3 is destroyed. Finally, the boss has .2% health left-when suddenly it now has 10% health left! Let’s do 10 more layers!! Oh yeah, and another guy we’ve never heard of just ran away.” It feels like the author just wanted to drag things out to make the story take up more chapters.
Fair enough assessment, but I feel a bit differently. I feel the fact that the boss wasn’t defeated just like that shows the magnitude of difficulty, and the immense effort it takes to defeat this guy. I mean to be fair, all the floor lord battles have been multiple chapters, and this is the 6th floor one, the highest yet. It’s no wonder the danger and struggle they have to defeat it.And to top it off, this guy isn’t even in its habitat and it’s this hard to beat. Imagine if they fought it on the 6th floor?Anyway, I find the level of detail and the anticipation build up the story and showcase the depth of the challenges these guys have to face.
I hope they give the background lore about this boss later on like they did for some of the other bosses. I’m curious how such a creature came to exist.
For some reason, I keep expecting when everyone is at their last wits, for a random final attack to come out of left field and finish the boss… then when the smoke clears, Bjorn sees Baek Ho's smug face saying, “Did you miss me?” or something aggravating like that
