what if Black Mask is Bjorn’s Ex. She was alone with Baek Hoo all the time, she has motive to be concerned for Bjorn, and does suspect that Bjorn is Hansoo, Baek Hoo knows that Bjorn is Lion mask and has the code to enter. If he gave her the info on how to gain access, then she would absolutely likely recognize the body of Lee Hansoo, as he acts as Lion, and knowing that she herself could also be recognized, chose a mask that fully concealed her.
I’ve been thinking this too, though patiently been creeping the gender status of Black. So far no clues, and the pronouns can be misleading, but it is a strong possibility especially with the question Black asked and the info Black provided

And would he do it knowing there’s a war coming, vs. beefing up his allies and preparing them for what’s to come? Kinda feels like the latter, since he cares for his ppl
So if Noark went outside and still decided to invade Raphdonia, it means there’s some really important secret inside Raphdonia that either – a) protects against whatever they found outside, b) is valuable enough to hide inside, or c) is powerful enough to control something really important. Maybe there’s a D and E too, but that’s all I can think of
i mean. What if its just the Labyrinth out there. Theres the floor set on an ocean, theres the Dark Continent. What if the Labyrinth is just…. outside the walls. Or, if the labyrinth is truly another space, its been heavily implied at multiple points that the places in the labyrinth are based on places in the history of this mysterious Empire we know little about. like the Crystal cave and the dreadfear stuff. So if the Labyrinth isnt just outside and is anothe dimension and space, then maybe the original locations are out in the world. Like the original Dark Continent, Crystal cave, etc. and if they are out there, what if the original lands and places are just say 10 times more deadly than the Labyrinth. What if the Labyrinth is a tutorial level for the outer world. prepping for stronger creatures and entities beyond what we’ve seen before. We already thought about the possibilty of beyond Level 1 monsters existing on the lower basement floors, So if there, why not outside the city also. And if this is the case, The city could be a safe haven, the last bastion of living people, as the rest of the world has somehow been ravaged and destroyed by the actions of this Empire in the past, living it a monster ridden, hell scape of beauty and greenery. Wait. Edit: New thought formed as i was thinking on this. What if the Witch’s curse Does Exist. But it doesnt affect anyone anymore, cause it was already cast. What if the people of the Empire were Cursed and became the Monsters. And if the Labyrinth is a dimensional copy, as has been potentially implied, then are the monsters based on the former soldiers and citizens of Said Empire? We saw for example the Dreadfear monster, who was seemingly from the empire. So if thats true…. for literally every monster….. big and small? then if the copies are in the Labyrinth, the real ones could remain beyond the city, Laying in wait
And maybe… just maybe… the royal family has the ability to apply the curse again, leading noark to want to invade and control that power out of self-preservation…
Or, another theory, Noark thinks they have the power to do so, but the royals lost it at some point, and are now unable to do so again, which is part of why they keep the outside under such heavy lock and key, and want to prevent all info on it from spreading, no matter how small, If people know that they cant use it, then that lowers the power of the royals, so instead, they reframed it to the public as being a passive curse, that kills all those who leave, which ties into its original active effect, since once youre a monster, you might as well be dead, or well, who you were is dead and gone, and only a monster who may or may not have past memories of before that, is what remains. But given that they cant activate the effect in this hypothetical, they instead turned to the rumors of it being a passive killing curse. Noark, once they went outside the walls, realized that the curse didnt affect them, so they thought it wasnt real, later found something in the ruins of the empire outside, that indicates that the royals can do the curse again, hence the return to the city and invasion
I really can’t wait til we get outside… though I think we have a long wait. Unless we get aPOV from baek-ho or someone from noark (or gavis), we still gotta get out the basement, and deal with whatever is going on in the city (war, catchups, etc)
i mean, given that this month Clown said theyre planning to invade, the invasion could start before Bjorn gets back. so even though the war has been going on up to now, what if Bjorn returns to Raphdonia and its just an active warzone. we still dont know how much longer theyre gonna be down here. Cause while i do think the Chief must know something about opening the portal, we dont know if there are extra rules or steps that need doing

she did ask once before if he was Bjorn also, and at the very least, if shes black mask, then she knows Hansoo is Lion, they use their earth bodies at the round table, and hes in a Lion mask and suit sure, but they dated. Im sure she can recognize him in most clothes, and tbh, could be a major reason why she picked the Black mask, it covers and conceals everything, so Hansoo cant do the very same thing and recognize her from her bodytype and few visible details

tbh, Hansoo is kind of oblivious when it comes to women. like, we already know that she basically copied his game info from having watched him play, and likely, if hansoo had notes on the games, she had access to those. So tbh, we can assume she has a shit ton of high level information on this world, and the skill in game at least to back it up, how she fares in real combat is still up in the air, but overall, shes seems intelligent. And at the same time, Hansoo we know was rather single minded about Dungeon and Stone, so it wouldnt surprise me if he kind of ignored who was as a person and her capilities, in favor of the performance of their relationship, cause from how he talked about it, it felt like Hansoo viewed their relationship as an act, or just something youre supposed to do, whereas here in this world, while not against it, he isnt seeking it out and even has many strict rules for himself on that front cause of being an explorer and evil spirit. So i almost wonder if Hansoo just, never truly knew her, only really having seemingly surface level awareness of her personality at times. But maintains this level of comfort with her from their past experiences despite that, and tbh, it makes sense in this light that he would underestimate her. She didnt ask for it, but Hansoo did it.

Just as baek hoo knows things that Hansoo didnt, Hansoo knows alot that Baek Hoo didnt, and so hyun Byeol likely doesnt know everything that Hansoo knew, just cause she wasnt as hardcore as him, but still has alot of info that Baek hoo likely doesnt

Nah that's a translation issue. Unconfirmed pronouns don't machine translate well so context is very important. Black mask has male pronouns when they're asking butterfly their question. So we need a hard gender drop in story to know.

tbh i never considered Baek Hoo as on the same Side as Noark, just sharing an interest for a while, Baek hoo is on no ones side but Baek Hoo’s. Noark is going against the royal family, and so, Baek Hoo, being the way he is, would be silly to not take advantage of that fact. They are fighting the same people he feels he needs to fight, so may as well use them as he can, and try and accomplish his own goals with the extra help. he can and will abandon Noark at the drop of a hat
