i mean, i already had my multiversal theory of Multiple Gavis’ working together, and posited that Gavrillius, the Sage, could have been the one to kickstart that whole thing, and we also have the golden book, who mentions a brother and sister, and the brother left to learn Magic, Someone else said that maybe the brother and sister were the Sage and the Earth Witch, so if we consider that Gavis has some connection to Gavrillius, and that Gavis is placing this much importance onto the Earth Witch and how Bjorn talked to her, that maybe he’s still looking for “his” sister, if this gavis is truly somehow Gavrillius at least. And if she is his sister, and idk if it was ever directly said, but could the Earth Witch be behind the Abyss gate, which is why Gavis wanted to find the one destined to open it? To get her out? to Free her potentially? Thus, with gavis hearing that Bjorn met her, He may be internally freaking out. as there shouldnt be a way to contact her if shes beyond the Abyss Gate, and so Gavis needs to know what happened, since if theres another way, an easier and faster way, he has to find out. This could all be nothing of course also, but i do think it would be an interesting outcome. As for why he could be looking for his possible sister, It could be to Free her, it could be cause he’s chasing her for other reasons, Maybe the Earth Witch is fleeing from him and has hid in the Labyrinth for some reason, im not sure, we dont know enough of the history of the Witch and the Sage and their relationship to each other
From what I recall, it was stated that one can meet the earth witch at the abyss gate – i’ve always envisioned that opening the gates was a double edged sword – there might be some dimensional portal or trigger to “Send the evil spirit back to their world” or at least eject them from this one, but also that it releases the curse across the labyrinth and raphdonia, damning the world the player intends to leave behind.I’m on the fence with gavis being the great sage, if the great sage is the older brother. It’s been stated (though it could have all been a lie) that Gavis is an evil spirit from a different world – I feel like he is aware of what will happen and is hiding that from Bjorn and the other players. That’s my suspicion though
What if Gavis and Gavrillius arent the same person directly, But that gavis is an evil spirit from another world, possibly one where Magic also existed, possibly not, and through some means, Came to Raphdonia and took over Gavrillius Body. What if Gavis was the First Evil Spirit. And from there, in the body of the Great sage, He could advance, learn, and grow in power. Cause if Gavis was an evil spirit, and he CAN just send people home with his magic, and seemingly also bring people to this realm in the same manner that he was brought, given that he is possibly also an evil spirit, then his goal is clearly not to return to his original Dimension, nor is it to return others to theirs. So whatever is beyond the Abyss Gate must either be Personal to Gavis, and something he dearly wants, or something he wants to gain even more. It wouldnt be wealth, Gavis has shown no signs of caring for such things, nor anything else material, so If gavis is striving for greater power, and has taken the body of the Great Sage many years ago, then maybe he seeks the earth witch to take her power as well? to claim it all for himself. I had the thought in a comment next chapter that the community and Labyrinth may function very similarily, and if so, that means Authority can be granted, and possibly taken away. Could the Community have been a testing site for the transfer and theft of Authority so gavis could learn? If gavis plans to steal the control and power of the Labyrinth, which is seemingly more like its own world than a small pocket dimension like the community. He could be trying to become like some strange and powerful entity for some unknown purpose. theres also the possibility, that Gavis specifically, did not enter this world into Gavrillius body when he reached 20 years old, if he was the 1st evil spirit, the rules may have differed, and Gavis, being the creator of the Dungeon and Stone game, may have set the time for future evil spirits to be at 20, to allow for them to have a better chance at survival and adaptation, and also not just fully assimilating into the world if they came as babies for example, to force them to move forward. But gavis could have come earlier or later in the Timeline of the great Sage’s life honestly, We have no way of knowing. but the age of 20 for the rest of them Feels Very Intentional, and not like something that would just happen on accident, so there must be some mechanism behind it. Along with that, i know Saintred was trying to trick Bjorn when he called the Chief an “Ancient Traitor” but what if that wasnt fully a lie? What if the Great Sage and his party ARE considered Ancient Traitors, not only for the Chief having stolen Karui’s Heart, but also because the great Sage was discovered to be an Evil Spirit, Someone who was not who they originally claimed to be, Who stole the Body of their Great Hero, and replaced him. Thus, The Great Sage and the rest of his party became Traitors, The Chief, in fleeing, stole Karui’s heart, and gained further Enmity with the Royals, and the entire party was now Traitors. But that cant be revealed to the City. No. They must cover it up and hide that fact, for propaganda reasons.

I wonder if he is also responsible for the race relics dissapearing 12 years ago (or if maybe that was time traveling Bjorn again), as a ploy to either hasten the progress towards the abyss gate, or to prevent others from getting them first
im not sure if its to take over her Body, or if its to take her Authority, thats what i meant by the community possibly being the testing grounds. Gavis said he had been slowly taking the authority back from the GM, and we all took that as a fuel type of deal, BUT, what if Gavis truly did give the authority to the GM, and used that as practice, to subtly, and magically steal the authority bit by bit from the GM, and when revealing it, make it out like he just had an off switch. All the while there was the very real option for Gavis to just take the authority back normally, but no, that defeates the other point of creating the community, besides just using it to find Bjorn like we thought before, its also useful to allow Gavis to train and steal the authority in a controlled space, that uses a near identical system to the Labyrinth, and if he can then employ those same methods on the Earth witch and the Labyrinth, Gavis may not even need to steal her Body, but just the Authority she holds.
I had always worked with the idea that the witch was sealed, for the protection of everyone, and that opening the gates of the abyss was quite literal, and unsealed her, along with her curse.That could work with your theory too, in that maybe gavis wants to be able to control the curse.The more I think about what his real motive can be, the more questions I have. Part of me wishes Bjorn would give some answers so he can ask more questions, but then I remember Gavis is a sneaky old man who only tells half truths
given how long Gavis has potentially been around, and how he knows about the record fragments, its possible that Gavis has been using the fragments as literal time machines. To go back and forth through time. He was very much aware of when he met bjorn and when Bjorn met him, and seemed perfectly fine with adapting behavior for such issues. If he regularly time hops with the record fragments to get the info he needs, that could explain that ease with which he adapted to such

I’m guessing since Auril Gavis wants to know the whereabouts of the witch. I think this is loosely connected to the reason he is shutting down the servers. Perhaps to gain power to seek or converse with the witch. Another thing that comes to my mind from a previous comment is that SoulQueens is directly from the royal family and might even be the Queen. All this gives me the idea that Auril Gavis was using the GM and the community to have ties with the royal family and gather information. Taking back his authority and shutting down the servers could mean that he is cutting ties with the royal family and has no need for it now.
