i love the author take on punishment , soo many damn stories nowadays especially western trash just make characters forgive like it was nothing betrayals and criminals doing awful shit to the mc or others . modern authors are soo damn snowflakes its embarrassing
So Baek-ho is essentially Bjorns foil and is meant to show what he could be like if certain conditions are met. Lee BH likely wanted to see how he would react to being betrayed the way he feels he was. He was clearly hurt by it. This is why the way the author handles Misha’s betrayal is the most important thing in the story so far.
If he just forgives her and takes her back then it ruins both characters. They learn nothing and both just ignore the problem the way they've always done. The only time they had any progress on development was when they banged but then Misha immediately undoes everything by breaking up and Bjorn ignores it and pretends it didn't happen.
If Misha dies in order to protect Bjorn or something stupid like that, then the author robs both characters of their development. Again, nothing changes as we already know she's willing to die to protect Bjorn so all that happens is a convenient excuse to again ignore what happened and pretend everything is fine.
Misha needs to actually repent. She didn't just betray Bjorn she betrayed the entire team. She needs to own up to it and apologize to everyone and accept that they may not forgive her or ever trust her again, which they logically SHOULDN'T. Then earn their trust back in spite of that.

So the community seems like its very much under Gavis’ control, he can pop between places, and its an extradimensional realm where time and space are a bit warped, with the 10 seconds in reality being hours of time in the community. The Community is run by the GM or Gavis, depending on who has the authority at the time, but the real control resides with gavis we know now and he is able to freely give said authority to to others and to items. What else does this kind of sound like? The Labyrinth. Its an extradimensional realm where time and space are strongly Warped, with days to months of time being seconds in most floors of the Labyrinth, and the basement being time synced. There is clear sign of multiple spaces or “chatrooms” in the Labyrinth, each isolated from each other, and accessible through pre-positioned Portals, or Links in the case of the community, that when used, transport you from one place to another. In the Labyrinth, everything seems to tie back to the Earth Witch, Hamsiki seemingly has some potential connection to her, Dreadfear the Boss was a Witch’s follower who was killed by dreadfear the Empire Soldier who chased the witch and her followers. Those with positions of power in the Labyrinth seem to have some kind of connection to her so far at least, almost like they were given some Authority by the Primary Controller of the Labyrinth, similar to how the GM and the truth gem were given authority. Could the Earth Witch possibly hold a similar position in the Labyrinth to what Gavis holds in the Community? being its primary controller and director. And the Community being based on the same system as the Labyrinth, but lower base specs, Or maybe Gavis doesnt have the same level of authority as the Earth Witch in this hypothetical, so therefore cant achieve the same things. The Community really does seem like a heavily downgraded Labyrinth, or a Soul Labyrinth could also be one way to interpret the Community, as its based around the Soul rather than the physical body, but maybe thats just because of the Community not being strong enough to draw in the physical body as well. Thought it was interesting overall
I really love your theory. How do you explain the royal family then? Their little kingdom inside the cursed land of the earth witch. Maybe they are the same like Gavis and the witch? I remember there was some explanation where they said the royal was a fool for investing in a mage, who apparently saved everyone. Was that Gavis? Or the great Sage? I swear I need to reread this entire story soon.
i mean, the royals could be the final remnant of the Empire to be honest. They may be the ones left who still chase after the Earth Witch, or they could also be the last followers of the witch. seeking to prevent anyone from ever reaching the Abyss gate, which is why the Royals have never truly pushed to reach the end of the Labyrinth from what we know, or they could also be trying to seize the authority, or they might just not even care about the earth witch that much themselves, and only happen to carve out this last bastion of society and just take advantage of the Labyrinth, without any actual specific goal relating to the earth witch and the abyss gate. honestly theres so many possibilities that could explain what the royals want exactly that i cant even really write them all, cause even if the Labyrinth and community run on similar systems, it doesnt change much other than telling us more about the logic behind their function. And may allow for us to consider new perspectives. Im not sure what Gavis intends with the community being similar to the Labyrinth, maybe it was truly just an inspiration for the community, rather than a plot connecting the two, we cant know until we get more to read
Ash always has these thought-provoking theories :DOfficially, it was the great Sage they invested in – the jury is still out on whether that’s the same person as Gavis or not.I think the answer to your question is a core mystery which the author has given clues but still held really close to the chest – I feel like we’ll only get a proper answer near the end of the series, but kudos to anyone who can guess it beforehand! My money is that we’ll get a chunk more as we uncover the fog of war in this world and visit more places we haven’t yet. Also, if we ever meet the King. Hopefully the basement still has some secrets before we get out and return to the city (since we’ve been all around the city already).
thanks blue haha, also, i just had a continuation of a thought off this comment in relation to a comment you made last chapter, and i think the Community, if it truly is a similar system to the Labyrinth, could be a possible testing site for the transfer and theft of authority for Gavis, Cause i posited that Gavis and Gavrillius are both the same and not the same person in that comment. That Gavis was the 1st evil spirit, and took the body of the Great Sage, I go into more detail in the comment in previous chapter 577 but yee, thanks for always responding with your own thoughts, hearing yours and others thoughts always helps expose flaws i can try and figure out
For a sec, your post got me thinking maybe souls are brought to the community first, on their way to inhabiting bodies as evil spirits… then then I remembered that players need to take a pill and be invited to the community… so scratch that eureka moment, lol.Also, I now realize what you meant and it popped my head cause I hadn’t considered that Gavis could have taken over Gavrillius… evil spirits don’t take over those after the age of 20, but maybe that is only a present condition (maybe Gavis did something) and previously, that wasn’t the case…? 🤯 lolI’m going to check your other rcomment on 577
you hit the nail on the head there, i also had that thought, the age of 20 seems way too intentional for being the way things work, and very much seems like it was artificially implemented, and given that Gavis was the creator of Dungeon and Stone, and brought all the evil spirits here, if he was the 1st, and that rule wasnt in place for him, then its not much of a stretch to assume that is a rule put in place by Gavis himself, to ensure the players dont become attached to the natives and the world, always fear discovery as they werent young enough to pretend to be the person easily without effort, since its hard to mimic 20 years of mannerisms without having been there, and also not too old that they cant dive into the Labyrinth and not do what gavis wants them to do.
not to mention, in the original Dungeon and Stone there are no Evil Spirits, and theres a line very early when Bjorn goes to the library one of the first times where he finds mention that, 200 years ago, there were no Evil spirits, So they started at some point. And if that Time was when Gavis finally got the info from the record fragments about the destined fate, maybe thats when he implemented the Evil Spirit program, and started bringing people over, since before he knew that one was destined to open the Abyss Gate, he would have no reason to bring others over, and he doesnt do it cause he just wanted to, he needed that reason, so whatver Gavis may have found 200 years ago, is the key that triggered the creation of the evil spirits. Hell Maybe evil spirits DID exist over 200 years ago, but they were more random, and didnt get placed into their new body at 20, but rather at birth or random points in the target’s life, so its more like a traditional transfer in stories, and went mostly unknown except by the most aware few, but whatever Gavis may have done in this hypothetical, is the Lynchpin that allowed there to be some possible change in the Evil Spirits and how they came about. Its possible that gavis also found whatever knowledge drove this choice before that 200 year mark, and had to research how to influence and control the Evil spirit’s souls, who came over, and how they did. Since im sure that wasnt an easy thing to do.
In conjuction with this (Sorry, i know this is a ton of theory, my brain is firing on all fronts and making alot of connections and i want to get them all down) The events of Dungeon and Stone(the game) from 200 years ago, were TRUE right? the things there, everything, was correct, which means that, for that period of time, Gavis was there beforehand, meaning that gavis was active and operating for hundreds and hundreds of years, If he truly took over the Body of gavrillius, That would be over a thousand years ago, well over that, Meaning that Gavis, in theory, has been around, gaining knowledge, seeing who knows how many record fragments, building his own information network, and all towards some goal connected to the Abyss Gate, which is located at the depths of an Interdimensional World outside the main one, He has knowledge much beyond what he has shown Bjorn, but i think, like he said in this chapter, He COULD just tell Bjorn everything, but would literally anyone believe it?
Or like your other theory, gavis could have been in this world for less time, but has been using the record stones to jump back and forth in time, including possibly over 200 years ago
I love how Bjorn is slowly realizing he views trust as a gainful situation only. if he trusts them and they betray that trust, its not like someone screwed up, its like they turned against him completely. no one is perfect, especially him. and if he doesn't get over himself eventually hell be all alone. we all screw up. what's important is how we continue going forward
The round table chapters were my favorite but didn't he explained to Bjorn how he made the thing like out of will or something like that I mean if he told someone like a mage or like someone that like knows how do you like will and magic work together maybe he can make another communityPs I think he did close it down so that he wouldn't meet with Lee Beck hoe
I think it would be too advanced for most mages, aside from the Ruin Scholar. Plus it would need to be only for evil spirits and ward against intruders
