The vampire probably only talked to him because he was originally a human and Bjorn had his and his daughters essences. Bjorn didn’t absorb the corpse golems essence until mid fight with the vamp thanks to Raven. Could also be because he beat the original difficulty of the game. Goes back to how Gavis said he couldn’t send him to other world even if wanted to.
I haven’t commenting much to predict because I saw a spoiler back when I gave everyone his stats and don’t want to ruin anything. Still enjoying the banter everyone is doing though.

It would be nice, but somehow I feel like it will have a huge disadvantage like actually taking damage to be able to reflect the damage back. This story is that hardcore with abilities haha
He had an essence like that, I think it was the Gachabon essence – he had it when he went on the Ice mission on the 8th floor. I’m kinda sorry he gave it up, but he’s getting so much stronger by focusing on the tank build and letting his team do damage. Dungeon and stone is a team game after all, as he often reminds us.
Aegis shield and Bellarios essence both together were the missing pieces. Now he can resist both magic and physical dmg. Imagine that same fight with corpse collector and co with current stats, or his fight with titana and kaislan in the marquis’ place, but with current Bjorn
I’m hoping Bjorn gets some essence that let’s his attacks ignore defense. He himself is already a powerful attacker, if his blows penetrate he’ll be a living freight train
Not just ignore defense because that would be too broken. However, if the essence ignored defense if you have a higher defense stat than the person in question that would be a viable and fair game.
Anyone else feeling like the world in this light novel is so well build and thought off. I might glaze a bit too hard + I usually read Trash story “system/Dungeon” manhwas but STGB feels like such a great story with good developed Side characters and emotions that do make sense

honestly yeah id really love to play dungeon and stone as a game, Ive also loved rougelikes, and dungeon and stone is very much that. its a more difficult style one but those are so much fun, and the mechanics and potential builds in this system the novel has made is really extensive and simple to understand but endless to truly master
If it is ever released, and it has a way to play online, we should all make a party with the people here 😂I would play as a rogue like Amelia. I've never been a fan of tank characters or warriors like Aynar, or mages like Raven.Archers like Erwin are nice tho. 😁
I’m down. I’d be a shield baba or tank mage – when I played LoL, tank was usually my main type of champ, aside from an ADC. I stopped playing a while back though
ive always been a caster build in games myself, and magic always seemed more my forte, so that would be my route likely, though id be tempted to do a more Sorcerer, essence based caster also, cause essences are such an interesting aspect

I am a game developer, it could honestly work pretty good. You can go many directions with this, even something similar to expedition 33. A bit loot/gamba based on essence and items. You do need a small team for a proper early access game though. Souls like is difficult with multiple characters unless it’s coop or ai driven characters. Ai often doesn’t work well though.
If we want the original experience, it can only be him 😂Well, I would be satisfied with a good enough game with the chance of making your character, and having cameos with Bjorn and co. Like maybe being part of the Abyss Lord Berzark escaping arc, or being in the fight with Noark in the dark continent when Bjorn destroys the artifact they used for communication. Wouldn't that be amazing? Haha
or it could be like the original in the story, and set 200 years before, and maybe a DLC for the modern novel stuff, OR go full in on the concept and make it so you play it like the original, only to be sent into new game plus of sorts on beating it, that, rather than being like normal new game plus, starts you out like it does in the novel, where you appear as an evil spirit, and that is now an element in play, with it being set around the times youve mentioned, and new challenges and changes added as time goes on. To make it better, could have it so, once beaten, you have the option to start a new game as an evil spirit by default from then on
I would be a game that brings the players to the limit and would only earn bad reputation because players wouldn’t feel respected. But for some Hardcore players this would be awesome.
i mean, i imagine that it would be slightly more forgiving in a real version of the game, maybe add difficulty levels too, so casual players could enjoy, but novel readers and hardcore players could play on the original, intended difficulty
It really is – the side characters don’t disappoint and they have real intelligence. Bjorn doesn’t just wipe the floor with everyone and instantly outsmart them. His wins feel earned, which is really satisfying and captivating
in all my current series i only find out 1 opera with the level of love and worlbuilding as STGB and is childhood friend of the zenith . all the others barely touch their level of effort this authors put in building a vibrant and lifelike world . mushoku tensei is the other one but is finished . btw there is another novel similar to this that people probably don’t know , its called how a black hair barbarian survived the labirint in another world . there are only like 200 chps so the author didn’t have the time for this level of worldbuilding but imo it will reach it at some point . its pretty good i advise everyone to try it
