He's written the excuse for bjorn's ineptitude with women in a way that is only excusable with a good enough trauma. At this point there will be no way to satisfy those that have suspended their disbelief in order to accept this character flaw. Like honestly what could actually excuse how much of a pussy he is? He got cheated on? Tied butt naked to a pole while girls laughed and spit on him? Seriously the longer this goes unexplained, the longer people have to suspend their disbelief.
Many of these fantasies authors struggle with romance. They acknowledge their works need a little bit of spice with relationships but don't know how to tie the story with the romance at all.I feel like this is the case with the author here. He's trying to advance the story as much as he can before commiting to write any kind of romance. I understand his approach, but the old cliche of delaying the development through making the characters dumber is so overused that it gets annoying.
I have a feeling its honestly not Versil, but rather someone else from the Icerock event, specifically, Ravian. Pretty sure thats her name, but the dragonfolk woman who almost joined Bjorn’s team in the past but didnt. She was at Icerock right? So I bet Sven fell for her during all that, especially given that may have been his first time seeing and interacting with a Dragonfolk, even Bjorn said its very rare to do so. And Given Modern day, its possible Sven may or may not have seen dragon girl stuff on earth
The goblin is literally just a different breed of cheat code literally no matter what class he is with his 6th sense having him with feels like auto win also considering one of the things you can unlock is instant death and the other one is considered a jack pot since the goblin got the jack pot it probably will be a broken numbered item any guesses what it might be?

Also does that mean since Sven opened that one, he felt absolutely no danger?? and its therefore a big prize of some sort, wonder what it is! Seems like Sven is officially in the process of leaving the temple, and since he’s losing his blessings, will that allow Sven to start taking in Essences now? or is he still restricted from doing so? He did mention that he was holding out for potentially being given a new blessing, so if the blessings are the reason the clergy dont take in essences, he cant even consider them, but also, unless he does get that new blessing, he cant exactly do much on any later floor right? So what happens in that interim period? before Sven has a new blessing but still has no essences? I wonder if Leatlas will just give him a blessing instantly, she has already been sending oracles to him, so its possible

if even clergy who gave up their blessings and left the church still cant take in essences from then on, that sounds almost like a death sentence in Raphdonia, losing all their power and abilities and no way to grow more unless they get a new blessing somehow, so i imagine they probably can still take in essences, but like you said, doing so probably fully locks you out from getting a new blessing. Also the concept of essences and other Labyrinth related stuff being another god’s blessing is a very interesting concept to consider ngl. What if the Labyrinth itself is somehow aware in its own manner, and is that god? Or maybe the Earth Witch somehow ascended and is doing so? Possibly could be that the 2 lost gods are somehow connected to that as well, with one or both potentially being the source of the power then, and if Karui is potentially one of those 2, then maybe the other is the Labyrinth’s core. My previous thought was that they sacrified their being for the creation of the Labyrinth, but with the concept of Labyrinth essences and other things being blessings from another god in consideration, Maybe the Lost god was somehow turned into the Core of the Labyrinth and now functions like a Managment Program
Ohh, that's a good one.I mean, I think it's possible that essences are some kind of blessing too. They give power like the actual blessings, and I feel like it should be possible for them (clerics and paladins) to take essences, but maybe in doing so, like I said, they expose themselves to a fierce divine punishment. Like, for example, becoming a cleric or a palading could mean singning a contract with your god that lasts for life, or until the god nulls it or some other equivalent power does it. The latter is a thought I came up when that bishop (or was it a pope?) that accompanied the dragon slayer was forced to convert to Karui’s faith. In that case, Karui, being a god too, could potentially block a divine punishment.But the same can't be said of the labyrinth essences. If, as you said, it works like an AI with the power of gods, then it wouldn't consider protecting someone who absorbs essences.
if the Labyrinth core was made from a god, it could be two cases that i have thought of, could be more cases beyond this still, but 1) The core was made with the powers of the lost God stuffed into it somehow, with none of the personality of the original God used to drive it, and the lost God dying in this process or maybe being reverted to being mortal, and now that stolen power in the Core acts as the management program under the control of either automated commands or the commands of some possible Admin, and since mindless, would act as you said here, and not protect or care about those with its blessings gaining or losing them at all, or 2) the core was made from a God that was Sealed and trapped and is now controlling the lost god, using their powers with the God contained and personality intact, with a secondary system that acts as the management program using the stolen Godly powers to accomplish things, and once again not caring about those who gain or lose their blessing, again either automated, or under the control of some admin. Now the kicker is, if the Lost god is somehow trapped there, personality intact, then that could open up several new possible routes of thought, since then its not only an AI or Management program running things, but also a potential backdoor to shut down the Labyrinth if that God was somehow taken out or released. Or if they are trapped in some kind of Core that can be transported, potentially then in such a case, The God Containing Core could be stolen. If there is some kind of Core hidden somewhere in the Labyrinth which is using the powers of one of the Lost Gods, then its likely behind the Abyss Gate, or somewhere else of equal or even higher difficulty to access. Maybe at the very bottom of the Basement? Or some other secret space that cant be normally accessed.

where are you getting that he wont lose his current abilites? He said he has to give up his blessings? From previous chapters, the term blessing was used to denote when a person was given a new power or upgrade by their god, if theres something that show he keeps them, thats great, i just dont remember when that was said
giving away his blessing does not mean hes giving up all his holy abilities thats why he said will just kill more monsters to continue to get more abilities from his god and they say in this chapter that there are cases of people continuing to gain more abilities after going through the same thing the goblins about to go through my guess is the blessing is something that the pope can give like in earlier chapters when bjorn asked the holy knights to give him a blessing when he was trying to get more from them
i took that as him trying to get a new blessing, not retaining the old, Since he did say he would try and get a new one, and same for the cases of other people doing so. the way I understood that wording was that, they left the Clergy, lose their current abilites, but remain pious and worship their god still, and are granted new blessings from their god, gaining new abilites or regaining old ones. Though i hadnt considered your interpretation, that may be it also
i understand what your saying this is my theory behind it he will get his blessing removed by the pope he will get a new blessing soon like same day or maybe the god will send a revelation telling the pope not to remove it at all the pope will start to freak out and keep trying to get the goblin killed but the goblin and bjorn will work against these plans the goblin will end up becoming the next pope and aid bjorn in fighting against the royalty

Also think you’re right that the church does want goblin dead at this point, they sent him to Icerock, and he lived somehow, and now he wants to leave the church and they send him down here, theyre really trying to kill him off before he’s out of their hands it feels like haha. Im not sure if Leatlas will send a revelation to the pope about Sven though, i could see her Abandoning the Pope however, and the Pope potentially turning to Karui and hiding that fact, with Sven maybe getting a revelation about that to solve it, and the old Pope somehow trying to convert the rest of the church to Karui as well, Overall, I like the Theory of conflict with the Pope and backed by Leatlas
