I'm just curious. Have we seen any players turn into mana stones then turn back? I'm trying to figure out what the point of that is and it seems like refinement of ingredients in alchemy. If they get transformed back it counts potentially be without the player soul
We haven’t seen it per se, but it happened off-screen, and those who went through this lost some serious EXP, like about 1000. Technically, they lost a part of their soul, and those who didn’t have enough experience to maintain their levels had an essence locked away
makes me wonder if a person with a low soul level could eventually reach a point where they either cant turn back due to lacking exp, OR that the cost becomes their memories and actual being as a person when there is no more exp to use
I think it’s possible, they might become like a regular person with no essences, unable to explore the labyrinth anymore… a very unfortunate state to arrive in
The author is saying its not too OP because monster powerlevel is too hard. Hand-wavey and ignores the “put hybrid on conveyor belt to kill it” or “make 2 of them and have them fight it out like we saw aboveground” methods but sure, why not.
Now, I propose a big unethical.
The machine does a world break, it turns people into magic stones, this has ethical ramifications if we recall bjorn's “what even is monster, oh it drops magic stones therefore monster" from earlier. But I digress.
Would we get an essence from 1 part monster 1 part human? Would we get all skills they consumed?
If we stack up stat’s via manticore essences on a mule human then use them as the stat’s ingredient, how potent is the unethical soup we just cooked?
Having two of the would mean having to fight 2 of them. It was only monsters of different types (those that leave bodies and those that don’t) that fought during rainy season.Man, human-monster hybrid would be mad. Bjorn would never do that though, he’s too much of a ppl person 😋. Curious question though
Btw, I just realized… the big boss buddy that will come after 6 months if Bjorn ad Co don't leave… its starting to sound as if it’s if they don’t leave Rainbow island rather than the entire basement floor… tbh it wasn’t actually specified in the Director's language choices…
Meating after they leave Rainbow/Panthelion, they may still have some liberties to visit the other islands if this is true.
Also, I wonder what was found in the prison room. And it sucks for those explorers who lost experience… we all know how important that is for essence-based explorers – a serious and permanent nerf
i feel like that was just a safe bet, the chance of the Author introducing this, only for them to NOT give bjorn a new important essence from this is basically zero, if they did that, it would be a very odd writing choice tbh
I remember he said he found it online when looking for Bjorn's stats. We don’t get those stat updates in the novel these days so he did us a solid and took one for the team, catching some spoilers in the process
Hmm so I guess this basically rules out the idea of him getting the giant giants essence to replace orc hero
-edit: this honestly seems busted as fk though, he had a lvl 5 essence in his graduation build purely because of how powerful gigantification is, and now he gets top tier lvl 3 stats and top tier lvl 4 passives on top of that- I feel like for his build that’s comparable to getting a really good lvl 2 essence or even a decent lvl 1
Trevor said the essence was broken, so likely all aspects are pretty good (stats, passive, and active). Looking forward to finding out! Hopefully it has some regen to replace the Path of Heroes passive he’s going to be losing, or at least something better/has more synergy

Okay so he is trying to go for the second GIGANTIFICATION essence. I hope it works as intended and he gets the essence as well.
Bjorn’s been through enough already, he deserves this essence. Also, right from the BF1 arc’s start, it was teased that he’d get an essence.
I just hope they give the other members some essences too.
