Anyone else feeling that Baek-Ho is getting more irritated the more Bjorn does heroic/ right choices? It honestly feels like there is a slow but steady time-bomb being set up here.
That's what I was saying earlier. Baekho is Bjorn's foil. Bjorn's path is to succeed where Baekho failed. Baekho had a party that turned on him when they found out he was an evil spirit. Bjorn's team is deathly loyal. Baekho doesn't trust anyone and is completely self serving, while Bjorn is willing to risk his life for NPCโs. Bjorn rules through leadership while Baekho rules through fear. It's absolutely going to end up with Baekho blowing up and either taking out some of his loyal followers, or dying while failing to do so.
Lol, love Baek-Ho trying to determine the source of Bjorn's Hans-spidey-sense and Bjorn keeping quiet ๐ . You know Baek-Ho's going to wrack his brain trying to figure this outโฆ it actually works in Bjorn's favor, because a miscalculation on Baek-Ho's side can lead to an advantage for Bjorn when they end up squaring off eventually.
Also, entering this new field feels like an โout of the oven, into the frying panโ situation. No poison resistance in an area with a toxic field effect and random explosionsโฆ starting to give me Ice Rock PTSDโฆ at least Bjorn has Soul Dive if he runs out of Soul Power, but the other non-mages are not so lucky.
Lastlyโฆ I wonder if the mages would have detected something odd about Hans Dailan when they encountered him if Baek-Ho didnโt jump the gun and rush himโฆ I figure they maybe would have used detection magic first. Maybeโฆ
Perhaps its in a symbiotic relationship with the Bayons? Hard to say since we've never gotten a glimpse into their motivation beyond just โtrick and kill playersโCome to think of it we dont know what motivates any monsters, do we? Im sure these Bayon are at least in part driven by a need for more hosts, and the more beastial monsters by a need for food or to assert their dominance in their territory, but it hasn't really been explained.
According to what I remember from Bjorn and Erwin's conversation with Hamsiki v1.0, monsters generally have a โcompellingโ that monsters with higher level intelligence (like him, the vampire count, and others) are able to overcome. Perhaps this affects the Bayons (and possible affiliates) too?
That's certainly a valid option, or it could be a special Bayon tactic that only occurs with intelligent monsters. Itโs also possible that the Bayons could have a hive mind or shared consciousness in reality, allowing them to work collectively to surround the โfrenemiesโ team
Itโs almost 100% Auril Gavis, we know heโs outside the walls, and heโs the only one we know of so far who would have the power to create/manipulate a dimensional stone to send them somewhere specific, also we know he can shape shift from when he set up the situation with the 1f floor lord hidden piece
โฆ donโt know why I didnโt even consider this, but THIS, this just rose to the top of the list of possibilities for me. We know he doesnโt like/trust Baek Ho, and that he strongly believes in Bjorn's ability to survive (since he thinks Bjorn is the one the record stones say will open the Abyss gates). Thanks! I really wouldnโt put it past Gavis, especially since it gives Bjorn room to grow – he fancies himself as a Chessmaster, moving all the pieces how he desires, and Bjorn/Hansoo is the only one who challenges/intrigues him

Who pretended to be Hans and lure them in is the question
