Bjorn better not tell these guys let alone that genius Lee about the Hans effect. If he does, I have a feeling he will harass him by bringing only people with the name Hans to attack at the forefront against Bjorn in the future lol
okay but that would be really funny. and potentially a way for Bjorn to overcome this psychological wall. an army of Hans led by Baek Hoo, only for Bjorn to come out on top. He would truly become the Bane of All Hans
also, if the Bayonโs are made from parasite spiders, that implies that the spider may also be wondering around on its own, which may allow Bjorn to get ahold of an Unused, never bonded to someone, Parasite spider, which, while niche, could have fun story potential if used right, or placed on an enemy as a kill method. or brought back for Raven to study or other potential. Since if the spider takes a host, it implies its born somewhere and grows. Plus, we then need to consider that the bayonโs havent had human access until recently, so were these parasite spiders dormant, Or have they been using monsters as their hosts to survive for a time? OR have their hosts been maintained by the spiders and remain from the days of the Empire, allowing them to not require fresh humans, not that they will reject them if they arrive, but may not need them.
the only one we would care about is Bjorn and maybe auresโฆ No one is gonna bat an eye if anyone on this party perishes, and Bjorn is not gonna die, so there are no stakesโฆ I guess the author will try to rush things out in hopes that we empathize with the gm so we may fear for his life or outcome of this ventureโฆ
Interesting addition to the lore btw, with Bayons (potentially) being ancient explorers, having died in the labyrinth and taken on new form (via the parasite spider). Their individual strength varying is likely due to them each having a different essence that links with Transcendence – possibly an essence the original explorer possessedโฆ
Curious how Bjorn gained experience from BaekHo's kill even though they are not party-linked. Iโd always thought it worked that way, but maybe experience is gained via proximity to a monster kill instead? This would mean that technically, explorers could farm by being near enough to another party's kill, no?
Laptly, was Dailan really alive before, and then died as soon as he entered the portal, or was he a trap the whole time? If the former, could the portal itself be a trap and sacrifice the first person to enter, or did he just die immediately/get attacked by a parasite spider and become a Bayon? If so are there more parasite spiders?
If itโs the latter, that would be an interesting and intelligent move by the Bayon, possibly as this might be their hunting ground. Spiders lure their prey into traps, so would be a fitting motif
I honestly think the author might have forgotten that part or they just โlinkedโ with the old mage guys help off-script since it would be the natural thing to do (as natural as putting supplies in your bag without having to tell us what kind of jerky in his back is, we just know it is going to be jerky)
Oh oh! I remember the answer to this. It actually tracks because 1 of Bjorn essences give exp for being in the vicinity of a monsters death over a certain rank. I think thatโs why heโs also destined to rank up again wile most explores cap out at rank 7 or 8, Bjorns like halfway to 9 already
Snap, I didnโt even think of that!Edit: wait, I doubled checked – thatโs the Bellarios passive, but that gives stats, rather than experience. Good callback though!
its possible that party magic was cast on them by Lord ruin(dontknow how to spell the rest of his name), as we know that party magic is cast by mages, so it would make sense for Noark mages to know the spell, since parties are needed for the labyrinth
I originally thought that too, but then I remembered that thereโs 7 of them, so unless they excluded the GM, I'd imagine theyโd likely split into 2 teams, with Bjorn and the GM as a separate one.ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ
would Baek Hoo allow himself to leave Bjornโs side now that they are in this position though? Baek Hoo doesnt know if Bjorn has the resurrection stone, so on the Off chance that Bjorn does, and dies, maybe baek hoo wants to ensure that 1) Bjorn stays alive until he is sure the stone is present so he can use it on him, or 2) doesnt trust Bjorn and the GM to be on their own team, since he needs the GM to get back to the city faster, or bothso even if split into 2 teams, the split likely is different, but i could be wrong
I think itโs likely the same Hans, unless it turns out there are other Bayons with his same appearance. If that turns out to be the case, then it lends to the idea that they were lured here, rather than accidentally getting trapped.Would be truly ironic if that petal ended up playing a factor – on Goblin-level proportions ๐
A Hans always meant 2 things: great danger and great rewards. okay.. usually more on the danger part but ye. Damn. I wonder if he tells them about the Hans-effect
I know the people who called it out verbally before are gonna have a field day here before long (Even though most of us suspected it). So I'm gonna throw my first comment here and wait for the chaos.
Waitโฆwhat if that IS the reason Hans exist. Like it was supposed to be program for a helping hand but creator of this world pressed โsโ not โdโ. System then generates a helping Hans with an error incorporated so all hans fuck up grandly as they try to helpโฆ.this is my new head cannon hahaha
btw the ruin scholar last name is ruinzenesโฆ kojima levels of naming here XD

Even a dead Hans is no good, lol

That broken flower petals is going to be mission critical.
Curse of Hans caused everyone to miss it.
Is the bayon another Hans or the same Hans, discuss?

So he went off on his own and perished. Such is the end of a Hans, solo
Only a Dead Hans is a good Hans!
