Ok so new theory based on a series of random cluesโฆ
we saw from the Basement rift (where village chief sacrificed himself temporarily) that the earth queen, the great sage, the soon-to-be king, and a powerful (soon to be corrupted) priest all knew each other
Also the witch's words to Bjorn when he came back from the other reality: โit seems youve made the same mistake weve madeโ (or something like that)
It feels like the king, the earth witch, auril gavis, and perhaps someone else (maybe on the priestly side) are all playing a complex game of chess, all with their own motives and perspectives, but according to a set of agreed upon rules.
I would wager that they all contributed to the labyrinth's creation, possibly due to some interaction with karui, along with some other secret or curse. Maybe they all got power from karui in exchange for something else (devil's deal)
Man, we really need to meet up with Village Chief after this, I'm sure he can shed some light on things
Dang it, it was hard already for Bjorn being involved with the Marquis, and now the king has noticed him.
The good thing is I don't think this guy is trying to kill Bjorn by assigning suicidal missions, but the bad thing is he will definitely want to dispose of Bjorn at some point, since he is an evil spiritโฆ
Bjorn has to get his clan stronger asap, and obviously he has to complete himself. But I feel he will end up needing help from a big actor, like maybe the Marquis, Auril Gavis or someone similar for that.
Bjorn has never reached the audience chamber before in any of his runs, but he also never had the custom Gigantification/Soul Bound Essence or the Aegis Dragon Armor, which seems to be disgustingly overpowered. Given he isnโt even max level yet but has taken the potion that gives the XP required to reach above the normal cap he still has even more room to grow, most likely in the way of a Floor Lord Essence and some Level 1 or 2โs, and of course the final piece of the Aegis Set.
Hopefully a floor lord ๐, and who knows if he'll ever find that last piece considering it must also be a secret numbered item. Then again, maybe it could be in the treasury after Bjorn completes whatever quest heโs about to get from the king
What would be your guess about that last piece : an helmet with special vision ability or boots which increase his speed ? And what about the passive of the armor ?
I thought about this a couple times, but that secret number item that Bjorn got from the basement riftโฆ he never did try it on, did he? Iโm pretty sure he got it and gave it to Raven to study, but im wondering if its possible that it is the final piece. Maybe a long shot, but its a theory.Other than that, I kinda think it could be a cloak. The Aegis in Greek mythos was featured as a shield, a breastplate, or a cloak, and we've gotten 2 of the 3 thus far. Also in the mythos, the shield was used to block all attacks, and to reflect Medusa's petrification back to her, similar to the all-blocking trait of the shield and the stacking reflection of the armor in STGB. If Iโm right about the cloak, perhaps its active ability could be some sort of crowd controlโฆ
Bjorn's clan is already among the top most powerful clans, given their small size, but yeah, theyโll need to increase their ability to face off against the king, for sure
too short โฆ (phrasing)

To threaten a cornered lion with a gun is a safe bet for him to surrender but to threaten its children might be the kings worst mistake.
I like that the king is smart and not some pushover. Bjorn had achieved more the noark by reaching the king
