Yeah not liking this Baek-ho encounter. There have been way too many unlikely things occuring. First was the floor boss still being there, then the guild group leader being Hans, then a special event, then dimensional collapse going beyond the safe-time and now this Baek-Ho encounter. I’ve probably even missed a few things.
Feels like the author just threw everything he had wanted to do/tell in these past few chapters instead of naturally spreading them out.
I’m very conflicted about this chapter, on one hand it feels so forced almost like the author didn’t want to take the time to set up a higher level floor lord fight for Bjorn to get his preferred essence, but on the flip side, I get the feeling that the author will write it so that this essence pairs incredibly well with either something Bjorn already has or will get soon in the future, and also his ideal build is more tuned to fighting with a team and being the pure tank, but having his own super regen means he will be even more of a threat as an individual combatant which could lead to some very enjoyable fight scenes in the future (including right now since I hope he beats the shit out of them)
So he’s going to become a tank/immortal that still feels pain. I wonder if he received the essence from the lord of tears, it might have been a modified super essence… Now we will never know.
I agree with elf that this feels a bit rushed. What will likely happen is that he his essence that got infected will evolve and enhance his essences to make up for the loss of what happened today. I’m going to be pissed if he doesn’t kill a member or two after this. Either that or pull a member thru the rift, isolate them from the party and kill them.
So bjorn was the one to willingly take it now? Sure that's probably his only way to survive this encounter but still… it feels kinda disappointing if fhats truly the case
But it works with the fate reply of the floor boss.And any other fate thing we seen in the story. Everybody is telling him he will suffer and suffer.And isnt his regeneration tripled because of his chest piece.Now everything that doesn’t one shot him is like a scratch
I mean definitely, the floor lord essence will boost his current strength alot. I do think its a shame that this essence is not able to reach the ceiling he could reach with another floor lord essence. Or atleast that’s what he said. He might even have to change some essences or future essences he was planning to get to build better arround regeneration again
I mean his plan changed the moment he got the orc essence. He es also way stronger than he was when he finished the game.He has the dragons blessing, he has the custommade essence from the basement, he has the effect that he can reach level 11 ,he has the corrupted essence and that new armor which is part of a set so I think his ceiling is way higher than he thinks. So yeah I see your point, but I still think it will be a crazy build
For sure. He will definitely be way stronger than in the game, if he isn't already. I mean he himself said this essence is not the best choice.Plus I feel like him being a regeneration Tank will just be more reason for him to get stupid plot armor in the future. Oh no I am at 1% health. 30 Seconds later I did recover 76% health because of this skill. Not sure if I am excited about that
The orc hero essence, or the ogre essence? Orc hero was always part of the intended future build (he just got it early). Ogre def was a surprise, but welcomed. I feel like all those who regret him losing the vampire essence might be satisfied now. Still, kinda sucks he won’t be able to get the floor lord essence that he really wanted. I really like the pure tank barbarian build he's been fostering. Survival is key though, and with him being isolated against these guys, he needed any leg up he could get.Also, I just knew Baek Ho was going to pop out at some time when least expected. Its just like him

Bjorn said he cannot remove the essence, i wonder if he can use “Restrained Wish” to change it later.
[P] Absolute pain – converts 50% of all damage dealt and received into true damage .
This skill is the most troublesome for Bjorn right now despite increasing his damage greatly, it also reduces his core defense even more.
[P] Disapproval – is a skill that causes your regeneration to skyrocket when your HP reaches 0%, but the countdown only ends when your HP reaches 10%.
(A) Stake – this skill effect varies depending on the highest among your physical, mental, and supernatural stats.
