Most things (since apparently ships do not disappear, remember) not belonging to the Labyrinth disappear when the labyrinth closes. Makes sense that this is where they end up.
Then, are the monsters that rain down monsters that were not killed in that Labyrinth cycle? Could be.
Some of them must be relatively fresh, but the area was opened too recently for the “villager’s secret” to have started with the new arrivals. Fallen explorers from the upper floors of the labyrinth?
