I think it was heavily implied if not outright stated back in the early chapters when she was the librarian. Her and her friend and the tea and sweets dates were for ragna who liked bjorn.She did an off-screen character growth from librarian (she quit!) into the countess when bjorn did his 2yr vanishing act and was named as an evil spirot. She was the one trying to push policy to integrate evil spirits, so him leaving / been labelled an evil spirit definitely deeply impacted her.
She was also very worried for him whenever he had incidents in the labyrinth, and was deeply upset when she thought he was dead. I think his constant library visits and conversations with her drew her intrigue, and that eventually grew to admiration

Agree with the bad writing assessment, disagree with the proposed ritual suicide solution.The worst thing about that scene imho is not actually the doll as the out but the fact that some of these powerful and well off nobles genuinely accepted the logic, ie those who reacted. Furthermore this is once again the marquis bending the knee to bjorn's machinations. From a power dynamic point of view, bjorn made all of the sitting nobles his bitches, the push back he got from this from the nobles was unacceptably weak and genuinely unbelievable. They entered with intentions to attach strings to him, bro said “nah I wanna fuk doll” and they just gave up the plot. It’s horrible writing because it sacrifices the goals of the antagonists for no gain and its not a brilliant 4d chess move given barbarian culture is polygamous, nobles are polygamous and barbarians should roll low on the int scale. This is a super long winded way to say, I miss when “outed as an evil spirit" was a real risk the author took into consideration for bjorn’s decision making process.

I actually think she got onto the round table via the GM, after hearing about it from Hansoo. I think Baek Ho was wary to spill all those beans in case it jeopardized the plan he had for manipulating Hansoo, even though i’m sure she tried. She likely figured our that he’s Bjorn on her own too – she is very clever herself, don’t forget

100% even if it’s just connecting tissue to get to the hyunbeol romance / hookup I guessed on some chapters back it could have gotten there better. Engaging him to ragna and then hyunbeol knowing whom he was and them still having feels could have been a proper spicy drama.
Also! the author just wrote an easy out for himself for the Heir with Melbes thing, cause he’s still allowed to marry within his race, and tbh, if that was going to happen and be allowed anyway, why not just go with Aynar! even if he’s straight up honest with her, and they dont do anything, thats right there. And would have produced some interesting potential. theres so many options that actively work within the conditions that the author is producing, and none of them needed a doll
