I belive the armor, or perhaps the full set passive is going to have something related to inmortality/avoid death once or something like that so the title of โinmortal giantโ begins to stick
Now stuff can actually make sense a bit. If there's another team here that's ahead of them, they could have been the ones that left the note behind. This avoids the problem of having someone with God like abilities stalking them to lure them here.
It's still problematic if it's only 1 note. Because it implies they all saw the same note thus could have all just met at the note.To have faith and assume it's not bad writing would mean we are in a Mafia game and someone in the party is pretending still, which seems unlikely still as its been quote โdays" since they rolled for loot. It's still bad writing, better writing would have been pre-distributing and then using the love note paper bjorn has that the author forgot about. Split party cant communicate has been a solved problem for a while now.Another party, that isn't auril gavis or royals aligned, been here is a bigger issue as it implies the existence of another mage with a team on the GM/Ruin Scholar's level who knows about and can open the gate.
To speculate on my hypothetical further. The other hypothetical party is royals aligned, their mage is the mage that opens the labyrinth, the labyrinth is closed because that mage is now here leading a recon party / army.
I've been thinking for a while about this now, but little by little, we've been learning about the sageโs party. With all of this time travel nonsense, it's becoming more and more likely that we'll get to actually see them in action. The heroes party is being rolled out slowly and it's kind of giving me chekhovโs gun vibes.
Thatโs also a neat possibility – on this theory-scape, would the other team also have been lured? Or would the other team have done the luring? Also, this could mean that a BaekHo/Bjorn party teamup vs. other explorers is imminent
Too bad they didnt test the armor, was really curious as to what stats/abilities it provides. The shield had some awesome passive, and it grows now too. Iโm sure the armor has its own passive, but I'm curious as to the synergy. In most games I've played, collecting item sets grant extra bonuses
GM is gonna be passed when he finds out the armor is boundโฆ unless Bjorn can make the same arrangement he made with Raven after the Crimson Fortress. Something tells me it wonโt be as easy thoughโฆ
Also interesting that everything here is opened. Could maybe Noark or some ancient explorers have gotten everything years ago? The labyrinth is modeled after this place, so it woukd make sense that even though the labyrinth resets after some time, this place wonโt. Though, I still wonder if its whoever lured them here that might have taken the treasures.
2/3 of the set you say? Iโm hoping final piece are grieves to complete his movement mechanics, and offset the mace slowness. Iโm also calling it now, this adventure either cements Bjorn and baek as allies or turns them to mortal enemiesโฆ..also this situation just became precarious. He cant admit to knowing about the soul binding (which means he stole it knowingly) without revealing he used custome essences, he also canโt play dumb as baek has similar knowledge of essences. Itโll be hard to explain his skills/curiosity as an accident this time hahahaha
Not sure he knows about the soul binding – we see the system prompts, but he doesnโt. Unless he can tell by the way it clings to himAlso the binding isnโt due to his essences, itโs just that it seems to be an item that binds to its wearer (there are other items like that too)
I went back to double check, but chap 625,itโs definitely an essence ability, Uumdalโs passive produces soul link on numbered items first equip. I think however because itโs the first piece of a ??? Numbered set the link applies to the set which is crazy. If it were a stand alone item I think itโd be a one and done.so given he didn't know jt was a set couldnโt have known it would soul bind. Baron bjron is cleared of all charges!! This is going to be hilarious as they all try and figure out why/how it got bound hahaha
Right, I was thinking it was like #9999 Beginners luck – Aynar had gone to pick it up and Bjorn stopped her cause it binds to the first person who comes in contact with it (he gave it to her anyway). I think there were a couple other bound items (like the rose knight storage rings), but like Arsonist also pointed out, this* could be bound specifically due to being part of the set (since, like you pointed out, the shield is already bound due to the essence). Hat tip to you as well ๐
Our realestate baron is just going to pay an outrageous sum of magic gems for the gear, good thing he has the infinite wealth thing going on here. Not much else he could do unless the GM wants to do some experimenting like our other mage friend.Reading his inner voice, I think it's fair to say bjorn knew what would happen if it was part of a set โI was due for an armor upgrade anyway" good thing he's immune to mind reading / truth magic because that's definitely intent to steal.
It feels like thatโs whatโs happening. Not on purpose perse, but someone is definitely crippling baek ho disguised as buffing bjron, disguised as a trap lol
If Baekho had his nuke, and he fought bjorn now, bjorn would lose. This Arc and probably the next few are to flip that power balance, so we get a cocky baekho getting his move back just a bit too late to actually be able to 1v1 bjorn and win imho The author has done the โif this was me yesterday I'd have been fuckedโ trope a few times this novel already
Tbh I donโt think so. 1 on 1, Baek Ho wouldnโt get the chance to charge it up. In a team battle, donโt forget that Bjorn has the Aegis shield which can nullify damage, plus we donโt yet know the features of the armor. Bjorn keeps saying he wouldn't lose vs. Baek Ho, but heโs not certain heโd win, and I see why. As a Tank, his damage is nothing compared to a dealer's, and Baek Ho is pretty nimble and can easily escape Bjorn attacks (or in general).
I'm fairly confident baekho could just vertical jump, nuke bjorn from orbit or otherwise kite him, he's been stated to have the speed advantage or be fast as fuck a few times already. When the party was doing their Sprint marathon thing earlier they all slowed down for bjorn. So assuming baekho can move and do the thing he just kites him.Question really is how flexible Aegis Shield's โBlocks all attacks wording is"
Yeah Bjorn is never getting a hit on the agile Baek Hoโฆ unless he uses his Storm Gush Scorpion โget over hereโ combo ๐ Also Baek Ho's ultimate requires a charge up, and not sure if he has to be stationary or not during that. Honestly I really think with their specs, abilities, and tactics, theyโll stalemate each other

So aynar rolled him the shield from 7777
GM rolled him the armor from 777
Bet we get a matching helmet from 77 or 7

It's like this whole trip is just to power up Bjorn alr now
