  1. After rereading the chapter where he encounters the immortal king in the rift (thank you blue for the chap#) Iโ€™m a little confused on how this current king would even slightly resemble the immortal king, supposedly itโ€™s been thousands of years and the king was staying alive by using the karui artifact to take over his childrenโ€™s bodies, surely genetics would have caused him to look vastly different by now if not for some deus ex miracle genetic engineering or something like that, could also be that the author just felt the point he could make was more important, either way just some thoughts on the matter

  2. Super interesting about the lightningโ€ฆ i wonder if it is related to the gods, a consequence of the king's life preservation, or something else

Also interesting about the side quests: the king wants Bjorn to kill the Marquis, the Marquis wanrs Bjorn to kill Baek Ho, Baek Ho wants Bjorn toโ€ฆ who knows

Also love how Bjorn skirted over the King pretending he's a different king than the last, and not remembering how to prolong his life. We know its because he's missing the heart of Karui, but Bjorn is smart to hold this secret close to the chest

    1. Doesn't the King say that he's used the machine already? I was a bit confused reading that

      1. All good, this might help:

โ€œโ€˜Ah, by the way, this is the secret that allowed the Immortal to live an almost eternal life. Iโ€™ve heard that, in the past, this device could be used to extend oneโ€™s lifespan. But since he died without passing on the secret, we lost the ability to use it ourselves.โ€™โ€At that, I stayed quiet.

This part here, the king pretends to not know the secret to the โ€œpreviousโ€ king's immortality, and Bjorn stays quiet because due to saintred/village chief, he knows its really due to the karui heart being stolen (by the chief) from the royal family, and with it gone, the โ€œsecretโ€ was lost. We also know that it was used to take over the body of the king's descendants. The current usage of the machine is likely why the king canโ€™t be actively attending events and such – I intrepret it as the next best solution without the heart.

        1. The king probably also left his body in that vat, his original body, while he kept taking over his children.

  3. Can someone remind me of what situation Bjorn saw the immortal king copy in when he was in the basement, or refer me to the chapter it happened in, completely blanking here

    1. Iโ€™m also a little spacey on this. The way I read it, it seemed like he was talking about when he was playing the game in South Korea.Either that or he was talking about in the dream world with Baek ho.

    2. It was in the basement rift, in the second to last phase after Bjorn and Erwin were rescued by Village Chief, the old mage, and the Bishop. A โ€œfriendโ€ of the mage visited to give them a dark jewel so they could enter the final stage, which was Karuiโ€™s domain (great demon realm). He was introduced in chap 598, but Erwin actually first met him in chap 595. He was the friend.

  4. After the king says โ€œKill the Prime Ministerโ€

Bjorn should have said โ€œOnly if I get to drag him thru the mud first, given with your full authority. That way we both get a kick out of it.โ€ He should also be bold and ask for a promotion via a kings decree to archduke or something.

    1. I think all he wants is to be able to ensure his people's safety. Given the imbalance of power in their positions, i dont think he wants to push it. Especially since this is also somewhat of a test. The King can easily have the Marquis killed on his own, but the fact that he wants Bjorn to do it says a lot
