I wonder why his emotions / thoughts are so off. I feel like something he doesnt know happened. Yes, there could be a human explanation like “it is the stress thats been building up” which would 100% explain the symptoms in the real world. Still, this is a game world and there might be more to it than that.
Technically it is a real world that the game was fashioned after. Not to discount your theory at all though, I think both ideas could work (stress and emotional build up, some sort of mental debuff).Personally, I think this is one of his character evolutions, from a calculating pragmatist to man who is tired of losing people and swayed by his desire to save them. He “knows better” but can't help himself. This is likely the “chrysalis” phase he goes through until he can “emerge” with a resolved mindset that takes into account his new perspective while forging a new solid way forward.Or something, lol

I agree, he used to view it with a strictly gamers mindset, but now he remembers the loss of his former companions much deeper and wants to avoid any more losses. Rremember, Hansoo was essentially a loner with very little friends (if any) and a messed up family. In Raphdonia, he has people he can truly care about and care about him. He doesn’t want to lose any of that, and it counteracts with his objective mindset. He’s going through a mental transition that is difficult, because the weight of his decisions are much heavier now that the lives he’s responsible for are much more precious.
He has mentioned it multiple times now that there’s something wrong with this head. It could be that he’s just overworked but it could also be that someone cursed him. Especially with his recent encounters of the Ruined Scholar and Baekho, it wouldn’t be impossible for one of these 2 to have a curse like that.
