    I’m a bit conflicted by the fact that a large part of recent events happened or went his way thanks to him learning the ancient language. It feels like it couldn’t have been cleared otherwise

        Correct, it’s the “Lord of tears” which the special kill ended up unlocking the island. The key to pretty much EVERYTHING was/is him learning the ancient language.
