But now that bjorn is there and the other people he kidnapped the silver clan to try the body stealing technique on humans and maybe he made progress and now he has kidnapped Amelia to make bjorn stay and thatโs why he was trying to learn about bjorns background story. I think this is going to be like a orochimaru and sasuke type thing.
If he can discern the truth from lies like some of the higher level people can then maybe he asked his age to see if he would lie by saying bjornโs she instead of his earth age. He may have just let slip that he's a player without even knowing.
Immortality can also come by โtakingโ the body of a monster etc. The mind of the chief is still Cornelius Brungrid but he can switch bodies. I don't think the chief is swapping bodies, I think he's absorbing them. The village people may just be residual energy that he has to release and the sword might be an instant kill item that absorbs the targets energy (which is why no essence this time). He's wary about absorbing Bjorn because he doesn't know if his strength comes from his body, or his mind. Honestly that could even be a monster that absorbed the first guy originally.
Damn this makes a lot of sense. It must be limited in range though, sincehe would have left the Repository Sea otherwise. Hmmโฆ He does not know about Evil Spirits. So maybe that is how this ends. His bodyjacking will not work on Bjorn because the original soul is dead, that is my guess.
