this is further lending credence to the theory i shared on the patreon comments about there being an Island Lord for each island and that the Chief is clearly the Lord of this island. The Giant is the lord of the Giant island, and theres probs a Librarian Lord at the top of the tower and so on for the other islands. Theres also the comment we got about Brungird having been obsessed with immortality and then becoming an immortal monster. Likely he wants to escape the position that was granted to him by the Labyrinth, similar to the Dreadfear Boss and Admin moment we got, Brungird has a similar position, but wishes to escape back to Raphdonia with his new body and immortality. Given that he is likely to be some sort of Lord rank monster. That will imply that the Chief likely has an essence he can drop. Could we potentially see Bjorn go island to island and start getting the essences of several Lord rank monsters? Also, given that the dagger was found, and the Chief’s power was shown, I think it’s clear that Bjorn is going to end up having to fight the Chief, and it probably wont be long now honestly. If the village did kill the Silver Lions, or kick them out, or whatever, then they must plan to do so with the rest of the explorers sometime soon as well. And Bjorn wont let that happen for sure. The other idea is that maybe Bjorn confronts the Chief directly, and justs asks straight up. But also it could be that the dagger was left cause the silver lions forgot it before leaving and dying, and the chief didnt even know, or they could claim one individual monster villagers stole it and wasnt caught, but theres not a way to prove something like that, and Misaligned trust doesnt work, so Bjorn has only his own wits to trust here. And tbh, we all know Bjorn, if things seem weird and fishy, and youre in the Labyrinth. Hit it. 9/10, it will advance the sequence and you can figure more things out. Bjorn even does the same thing with finding new regions. I think Bjorn is gonna Smack the Chief Soon
Also, another Note. For Brungird. Why did he even bother showing his power to Bjorn? was it intimidation? Bjorn was clearly handling things just fine, and even if it wasnt going to die, the Hipramagent was leaving, they didnt need it dead. they could have gone inside and left it to run off without issue. So why would the Chief show off his power like that? There must be a reason. So given the emphasis that both Bjorn and the Chief are now putting on their “agreement” I think the Chief’s intentions are to make Bjorn Think and Feel they have no choice but to cooperate. To comply, as the Chief has the power to take everyone out if he wants. But at the same time. If he truly had the power to control them with strength, and that was the intent, or to take them out, theres no reason for the chief to act like hes cooperating. So the intent cant be to control them, or force compliance through fear. Its to make them more cautious, more hesitant to do certain things. Hesitant to go against him, and not to turn on him. And theres alot more explorers now, and alot more of them are heavily interested in the village, so the Chief, I think, is being careful. There’s something he wants to hide from the explorers. Something that the Silver lions probably found out while Bjorn was gone, so they were taken care of. And cause the Silver Lions found it, The Chief is cautious, careful, and cant allow the chance for Bjorn and the others to also find it. Its not that the chief wants to kill the Explorers, they’re his only potential way to escape the Labyrinth with his new Immortality. He doesn’t want them dead, he wants them to help him. But he also cant get their help if they know whatever it is he’s hiding. The Chief asked how long it had been in Raphdonia as one of the first things he said to Bjorn. So how did he know? How did he know time passes. The only way he could have known, is if there have been explorers before now. But also, the villagers had never heard of a living human and thought they were mindless monsters. BUT, key point, they were not surprised to see their shape, normally when seeing a new monster, even the villagers expressed hesitation, they keep records of the monsters and their dangers, So if they didnt show any shock or hesitation to living humans, they likely have seen a corpse of a human. Meaning the village thought humans were weak, low leveled monsters who die on impact from a potential fall, and therefore, no need to fear them. Monsters fall from the sky in the rainy season, but we never saw human corpses fall, Bjorn absolutely would have made note of that. But we know that there are alot of human corpses left behind in the Labyrinth, Dwalki’s corpse for example was left behind, so where do they end up. Clearly they aren’t sent down at the normal time or in the normal way the monsters are. So there must be a specific location on the island they fall, or a different trigger that releases the human corpses at specific points, and if true, what do humans always have? records. journals. writings of themselves and their family. If these corpses exist, the Chief could read whats left behind, and learn, He could know that time was passing, and why he was so excited to finally meet Living Explorers. He finally found a chance to escape. He’s grabbing on to his last rope to survive and get out of here. Clearly the Chief is terrified of something getting found out, and losing his one and only chance he has had in 1000 years at escape. He’s not going to risk it with emotions, or unneeded, potentially harmful, information.
I def think the chief was trying to one-up Bjorn, after seeing his prowess with the Hipramegent on top the barrier. He’s trying to maintain the upper hand in the power balance. Also agree that I think they will clash soon, with the reveal of the dagger. Chief has always been fishy and the smell is only getting stronger.Not sure about him being a floor lord though, more likely some sort of anomaly, or something else we’ve yet to experience. This floor has a ton of wonky stuff – I don’t think we should rule out other wonkiness for the chief.Question is… if Bjorn and Chief clash, who would win or would it be a draw? Would Bjorn and co need to escape, and if so, they’d be losing their safety during rainy season… the next chapters couldn’t come sooner 😛
I dont think hes a Floor Lord, i think that the Basement L1 has something like Island Lords, each Island has a Lord level monster, like the Rift bosses type deal, where theyre not a true Floor Lord, but theyre still a Lord. Since each island is different, the islands could almost be considered their own rift and location, the monsters within are bound there and seem unable to leave their islands. Similar to Rift monsters.
Bro, he really solo’ed that Hipramajent. Well, him being a legendary figure makes sense now… But after all that time he spent raising monsters and calling them humans he is definitely a broken character.
