my guess is that the chief is a boss monster that has sense similar to the one bjorn meant during the pilgrim event thats the reason he cant leave that island he choose to be immortal and become a boss inside the tower one that keeps its mind intact
i imagine heโs planning to exploit the ability for the village to open and close, and use hit and run tactics to go out and in over and over to fight in a controlled manner, and get exp and essences, last time they mentioned that the chief sealed the village, and seemed able to just do that whenever
I wish the author would give us an updated run down of all Bjorns stats at least whenever he levels up along with essence abilities. Does he have two slots open for essences? They used to do it back in the early chapters.
