Unrelated to this chap – since there is a broader community that is ahead of us in chapters, I decided to do a deep dive and see what the state of things were like for them around this time (avoiding spoilers like the neo in the matrix).
To summarize, as you can imagine, there was general unrest with the doll thing, and with the closing of the dungeon. So for those of you feeling dissatisfied with the current state of things, you’re not alone. As well, the author took a serious of several month-long breaks around this point (for health and other reasons) which had mixed reactions from fans… though they had a lot longer of a wait to get through this arc than we will 🙂
That being said, I did get hit with 2 shrapnels of spoiler during my dive, though I’m glad I did – one of them is the setting of the next arc and has me excited 😁. I won’t tell, but if someone guesses, i’ll confirm. I do find that, thus far, the current arc is interesting in a different way, but from the history of this novel, I think we’ve come to expect a bit more from it.
Btw, I won’t confirm the second spoiler as I really don’t understand it just yet.
Your comment is filled with hope and concern hahaha i’m forgiving of bad writing when health and rest is concerned, I know these guys/gals are worked hard for little pay or rest… ill chalk it up as a bad arc and look forward to the next I guess. Even if it’s bad, 650chapters of fire earns some loyalty lol
You telling me we get zero explanation from Bjorns team mates for chapter after chapter then get this bs convo with aynar on housing????? The labrynith is getting sealed and author is wasting chapters on effing real-estae. Club house building competition when noark invaded for the first time in hundreds of years just a few weeks ago. We didn’t even get a serious talk about ‘how’ the village chief was able to fit in so smooth and fool everyone….or how about baek ho who definitely was supposed to be bringing Bjorn a gift after their last meet. He met his literal ex, and she was a round table member, AND figured put his identity and that too was brushed over like it wasn’t huge smh…..think ima take next few chapters off…this is depressing smh
Yeah, that's why I was complaining so much. It's clear the doll thing was a huge turning point for the story in the worst way. The author messed up and wrote himself into a corner with that and it's obvious now. All of the characters are just pretending like nothing is happening and everything is BAU. Either the entire story is dead now or just turn your brain off and hope the author gets back in stride.
This is where they get a mix of refugees mixed in with barbarians. Have the barbs transport and do the manual labor with the experienced refugees acting as foremen and specialists. This is going to work.
Wouldnt working together with the dwarves be the best outcome? Dwarves are the best at construction and barbarians are the equivalent of machines used in todays construction – just less predictable and they need praise.
Dwarves are the best quality which means it takes more time and cost. Can't beat them in quality beat them in the other 2. That's how competition works.Ideally mixing them would be best yes, but nothing in it for dwarves as they're known for their work. Like if someone asks for a band-aid people know what you mean even though that's just a brand. If you ask for Dwarven built, people know what that means.
Oh wow. You mean architecture isn’t something you can just throw people at to make it go? You have to have technical and organizational expertise? Who could’ve possibly predicted this:l

I really hope this ”building” arc finish fast. Its easily the weakest part in the story so far.
