Quite disappointed in the Bjorn here. “As far as the game was concerned, Arta was clearly an NPC.“ I though Bjorn had already accepted that this was not just a game and these people are not just NPCs. Seems like he still sees non-players as NPCs.
Even if he only referred to Arta as such here because he was part of the labyrinth, it’s not an NPC. A fragmented existence would be a more fitting term.
I think he's referring to the interactable characters in the labyrinth, rather than in the city. The ones that function according to flow and logic of the labyrinth, like the examples he gave – vampire unc, dreadfear, etc.He's also been struggling against nature with seeing Arta as just an NPC, ever since Arta showed knowledge of a world outside the labyrinth
Deeper and deeper into loreville. Hopefully this breeds more answers than questions, even though for sure it will yield questions on top of those from before.
I wonder if the labyrinth was created by the empire, perhaps long long ago, in another dimension. Perhaps all of Raphdonia's humans were from another dimension long ago. To avoid some bleak fate, this world was either created or opened, but it wasn’t perfect and is failing, and the Grey is really just the collapse of the current dimension… the labyrinth is an escape to pull resources from another world to delay or reverse the decline of this world, and perhaps maybe, just maybe, every day is the final day, extended by some immense power or sacrifice…
But that’s all speculation outa the wazzoo – cant wait for next chapter for some more revelations so I can refine my thoughts on this more
